#tbt Ansel Easton Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984) was an #American #photographer and #environmentalist. Known for his black-and-white landscape photographs of the American West, especially Yosemite National Park. In the 1930s, Adams began to deploy his photographs in the cause of wilderness #preservation. In part, he was inspired by the increasing desecration of Yosemite Valley by commercial development, his testimony before #Congress played a vital role in the success of the effort, and Congress designated the area as a National Park in 1940. #repost @rifat_ozbek #AnselAdams #art #artivism #StandingRock #DAPL #CleanWater #ClimateChange #Fight #Resist #WeThePeople #WeAreHereMovement @weareheremovement #HistoryRepeatsItself #IGNORANCE #GREED #NOTmyPRESIDENT
