#tbt June 29, 2007 I dropped my only released album to date with a performance at the newly opened Highline Ballroom in NYC. What a night that was! I was stressed and blessed at the same dang time lol I love being a creative. I'm a pretty good businesswoman. I'm not necessarily thrilled about the work involved in bringing these two sides of myself together. However, I am proud of myself for taking the leap with this record. I'll take it again when I'm good and ready. My creative life is not attached to commerce in the way that my corporate life is as a music business professional. Once I was able to find freedom in that fact, life got sweeter. Between my professional and academic life, I'm already juggling enough deadlines and expectations. Plus, I still got mad collabos and other joints that make up my body of musical work. Check the discog. We workin' on our own terms! When am I doing another solo record? Who knows? It's been in the works for years and I've written and recorded a ton of songs. Maybe you'll hear some of them...maybe they'll never see the light of day. I'm going to remain fluid and let the spirit lead me while I work at being a better human, daughter, friend, family member, professional, scholar, civic-minded global citizen, and creative being. Besides, these comp exams and this dissertation ain't goin write themselves, ya heard? Pray fo meh! #Blessed #10YearsAgoToday #WeAreNotOneDimensional #IContainMultitudes ❤️
