Day in the Life of Miss VALENTÍNNÌCOLE
I still cannot believe the day I had yesterday! After planning out the perfect chill day for myself I quickly came to realize that you will never know where the day takes you when you live in a city like New York. After rushing out of the office early in the morning, I met my client at the Marlton Hotel to give him the prints to a project that I’ve been working on.
After the meet up, I thought I would have the afternoon to myself.. You know, some quality “me time”. But as soon as I got to Stumptown Coffees, of course I bumped into Maddie who was walking Potato, the sweetest dog you will ever meet! We sat down for a little while to have coffee and do a little catching up. I must say i’m so glad that I can always count on Maddie to bring a smile to my face.
After coffee I decided to walk down the street to the park and enjoy the gorgeous weather. I was loving the peace and quiet with a great book in hand when of course, I got a text from Kerrie. She was at an event downtown and simply texted me, “COME HERE NOW!” I looked down and immediately had just one thought in mind… “What am going to wear?!”
Realizing that I don’t have the time to go home and change, I quickly came up with a plan… I hopped on the subway to get down to SoHo as quickly as possible and ran into one of my favorite boutiques. I was searching for that one statement piece that I could use to switch up my day outfit into a perfect ensemble to take on the night. Then there it was!! There was this one leather jacket that made me stop right in my tracks! I knew right away that it was exactly what I needed. I left the store, quickly threw the jacket on, and got right into a cab to head to the event. In the cab I finally had a chance to touch up my makeup and add just a pop of color with some red lipstick. Take notes ladies.. a good red lipstick never lets you down when you need to transform your makeup into a bolder evening look.
I finally pulled up the meeting point and saw my girls waiting for me right out front. Took one last look in the mirror to make sure I was ready to go… Perfect. I hopped out of the cab and ran to hug my friends. My day of doing what I have to for myself was coming to an end, and my adventure of an evening in New York City was only just about to begin… Who knows where it will take us next?
