It’s Christmas time in the city
It started with a flower. Or oddly colored house plant. Whichever. It looked like both.
But one day it wasn’t there in the apartment building lobby and the next it was. And then more of them showed up in the halls and in various places around the city. Sometimes it was a yellow-white, sometimes pink, but most of them were red. It was odd, how suddenly there were tons of these flower-plants coming out of nowhere, sitting in windows and on counters of shops and their check-outs.
Then, a few days later, there was more, some houses put circles of something green and pointy on their front doors, sometimes decorated with other things sometimes not.
In all honesty he had no clue what this weird ritual was, but one night he found himself staring out at the city from the window while Eddie worked on the small laptop. He noticed different colored lights around something in a window across the way, the distance making it hard to tell exactly what it was but... yeah there was more than one. Curiosity piqued, the symbiote pulled back from the window, coiling around his host like one of the scarves some people were wearing lately.
“Eddie... what is going on?”
