In that chp 112 pic you posted, where Levi sees his past comrades, is that Furlan and Isabel in the background between Petra and Erwin? Sorry if you've already answered this! If so, I like how they are dead centre alongside Petra and Erwin. Also breaks my heart. I'm still not too clear on how the paths work, but after Levi dies will he be reunited with them? Is there still an after life now that paths have been destroyed? So many questions!
Yes it is! Another of Isayama’s many nods to No Regrets. Even though he didn’t write that side story, he’s integrated it into the main manga, thus canonizing it.
I think what we were supposed to assume is that all of dead Eldians were trapped in the Paths existence. Ending the titan curse meant that existence ended, so Erwin and the others who’d been watching were saying a final goodbye to Levi. I think Levi understood that.
Now whether there’s an AFTER afterlife, that’s up to the reader but I’m gonna say yes! I like the idea of reincarnation and the appearance of birdren makes it plausible.
