Jokes aside, this is a really fun ship full of interesting dynamics to explore, and I LOVELOVELOVE it! It’s got all the things I want: poly, 11 different dynamics (6 pairs, 4 trifectas, and then all four ninja together), and,,, hot guys doing romantic things together. The only poly ship that could beat out this one is LoveTriangle/Geostorm.
Also, why is there no ship name for Kai x Jay x Zane? I looked but I couldn’t find one, so I’ve decided it’s called Weathershipping.
Angsty Headcanon: “Trauma trauma is so fun, trauma is for everyone!” By which I mean these boys have been through a lot and they deserve a break but the universe never gives it to them. Also Cole and Zane need to stop dying/getting screwed over by the plot/other characters.
Fluffy Headcanon: ...But they have each other, and the comfort provided would soften some of the canon angst. Zane sacrificed himself for the sake of Ninjago? It’s better to mourn together, which the dumbass brigade most certainly does. Cole gets cursed and is now a ghost? The weather boys will have his back. Whatever happened in Skybound? Jay has a mountain of comfort waiting for him. Something something Kai is hurt? I don’t have a creative pun for hailstorm but you can bet those three will lavish him with care.
Random Headcanon: It took these idiots forever + several love polygons + way too many shenanigans before they got together.
