Heart, Circle, and Crescent Theory
Ok so, this is a really small detail I noticed while rereading Ava’s Demon (again), but I was inspired to maker a legit post about it when I read this theory about Crescent Host so maybe check that out first. (I recapped the things needed from that theory for those of you who don’t want to read it now.)
I’ll start this with a brief recap of the parts of that theory that are relevant to this.
OP points out the unusual shoulder pads that are eerily similar to the ones of Strategos Six. This hints that Crescent Host is a high ranked follower of Titan.
OP references an official statement that confirms you do die in the Gate to Paradise. (In a theory that I might or might post, I go over the fact that Hosts become hosts through death and rebirth, the second part probably being with the help of the demon.) OP thinks that Crescent Host got their Demon from the death that happened in there.
OP quotes Ava from when she was in the GtP when she said “I’m staring at another Ava,” and believes this is foreshadowing. Meaning the
After looking at all the evidence, OP concludes that the Crescent Host will probably(?) be a high ranked follower named Ava. OP also thinks Ava 2.0 will be the host to Greed. (OP also discusses the relationships between Host’s traits and their shapes, which they then link back to a Crescent being a circle thats missing a piece and might be why she’s a follower. I will be referencing this even though it has a loose end on the post itself.)
Anyways, on to the new part.
In my reread of the first few chapters of Ava’s Demon, when I got to Wrathia’s backstory scene something hit me. And yes, I’d noticed it every time but this time I was reading with a theorist eye and just had to make something of it.
Wrathia’s egg’s pattern seems pretty random, right?
Wrong. There are three very distinct, very familiar shapes positioned very deliberately on the egg. The heart, the circle, and the crescent. When first reading I thought this was just a cool easter egg but come on, we should know better than that, every symbol is sO specifically placed before us to foreshadow just enough for these theories. And every shape has a host counterpart.
The circle, heart, and crescent are symbols for Ava Ire, Heart Host, and Ava 2.0 aka Crescent Host. It’s really strange that Odin, the host for Wrathia’s husband / the egg’s father, Pedri, isn’t represented on this egg. And the ones that are there are characters who’s demons haven’t even been mentioned yet! But, this has to mean that there is a connection between these three characters. Might heart girl be related to one of the Avas? Might Ava 2.0 or heart girl unlock more of Ava I’s backstory for us? Might heart girl also be named Ava?? (that last one is a bit of a stretch but hey, maybe.)
All we do know is, there’s going to be a lot of stuff happening between these three once the other two show their faces. (Which, based on the time it’s taking to meet Erios, star boy, probably won’t be too soon. Unless maybe they’re friends with E.)
Also here’s a little bonus fact for you to think on, dear reader.
Wrathia herself definitely has some type of connection to the Crescent Demon and/or Host. Here in this fandom we’ve learned that the small symbolism is EVERYTHING in foreshadowing, and as I reread the first few chapters earlier this evening, Wrathia’s story is absolutely covered in the crescent symbol.
I first noticed it in this frame, when she dies,
But the crescent doesn’t go away through almost the whole chapter. Whether she’s named Ava or not, she’s definitely going to be very important.
