Reading this article, aswell as seeing the direction Angular 2.0 is taking, really was a feel-good moment for me. For a while now, I was missing the point of using Controller, which resulted in hard time to distinguish between case where a directive or a controller should be used. I think Igor Minar said it best - using ng-controller is like creating a half-baked directive. With Web Components on a rise, this makes little to no sense.
