I don't hate ads when they are merely present on a website. I HATE ads when they make the site unusable. When I'm on a fandom wiki, I should be able to actually read the article I clicked on. I should not be consigned to a quarter of an inch on the bottom of my phone screen because Toyota or GMC has some worthless, oversized SUV that nobody should ever actually want to own anyway, and that's somehow supposed to be more interesting to me than One Piece.
No SUV will ever be more interesting to me than One Piece. In fact, even if it's a product that I am interested in, my interest will evaporate if it keeps me from reading about opening title music in One Piece.
