Inside a $1.29 Million Furniture Dropshipping Business for Sale
This home goods and furniture ecommerce business is listed for $787,620 and reportedly generates an average of $107,793 in monthly revenue.
Here is the full listing:
Its average monthly profit is $26,254, producing a reported 24% profit margin.
On the surface, this is one of the stronger dropshipping businesses I have analyzed. However, there are some important risks hiding behind the automation, platform credentials, and 30-minute-per-day workload claim.
Breaking Down the Numbers
Listing price: $787,620
Average monthly revenue: $107,793
Average monthly profit: $26,254
Annualized revenue: $1,293,516
Annualized profit: $315,048
Monthly multiple: 30x
Annual profit multiple: 2.5x
Reported profit margin: 24%
At the current profit level, the basic payback period would be approximately 30 months before taxes, financing costs, and future business changes.
That is not an unreasonable multiple for an established ecommerce business, but I would call it fair-to-full pricing rather than a bargain.
What Makes This Business Interesting
The business sells through both a Shopify store and a wholesale marketplace.
It also comes with:
Approximately 16,000 active products
A virtual assistant willing to stay
Automated supplier fulfillment
Documented customer service procedures
More than 100 Trustpilot reviews
More than 200 wholesale marketplace reviews
Google Merchant Center approval
A Google Top Quality Store badge
An email list of roughly 2,000–3,000 customers
That is more infrastructure than the average dropshipping store.
The business is not built around one viral product or one Facebook advertising campaign. That creates more revenue diversification, although the exact profit split between wholesale and retail must be verified.
The Biggest Risk
The listing says the Shopify Payments account was previously suspended after several chargebacks occurred within a short period.
That is material.
The seller currently reports a chargeback rate below 2%, but “below 2%” is too broad to properly evaluate. A 0.3% rate and a 1.9% rate represent two completely different levels of payment-processing risk.
I would request:
Monthly dispute rates
Total chargeback dollars
Refund and cancellation rates
Payment reserve history
The original suspension notice
Shopify’s reinstatement confirmation
Current payment-account health records
Are the Platform Credentials Transferable?
The Shopify store itself can be transferred, but that does not automatically guarantee that every financial service, financing offer, marketplace approval, payment arrangement, and performance badge will survive the ownership change unchanged.
The Shopify Capital offer should receive no acquisition value until the new owner is independently approved.
The Google Top Quality Store badge is also performance-based. The buyer must continue meeting standards involving shipping, returns, customer ratings, and website quality.
The Website Work Required
Even with automated fulfillment, a 16,000-product website will require ongoing maintenance.
The buyer should expect to manage:
Supplier price and inventory synchronization
Discontinued products
Product-feed errors
Google Merchant Center disapprovals
Shipping and delivery information
Product descriptions and images
Customer-service escalations
Chargebacks and damaged-product claims
Shopify apps and integrations
Website speed and conversion optimization
The seller may personally spend only 30 minutes per day, but that does not represent the business’s total human workload. The VA’s hours, responsibilities, compensation, and technical knowledge need to be included.
How I Would Grow It
I would not immediately advertise all 16,000 products.
I would first identify the products and suppliers producing the best contribution margin after shipping, refunds, advertising, and damage claims.
The next growth steps would include:
Build focused Google Shopping campaigns around proven products
Create stronger room, style, and product-category collections
Develop original buying guides for organic search
Build wholesale reorder email campaigns
Improve post-purchase and abandoned-cart automation
Add Pinterest product collections and room inspiration content
Test business-use buyers such as offices, Airbnb hosts, designers, and property managers
Create supplier and product profitability scorecards
Remove products that generate low margins or excessive support requests
Future Potential
Online shopping and digital wholesale still have long-term potential, but home furnishings can be economically sensitive.
Customers may delay expensive furniture purchases when consumer confidence weakens. Smaller home decor and practical business-use products could provide more dependable demand than relying only on large furniture orders.
The business could become stronger by becoming less dependent on generic product volume and more focused on profitable collections, repeat wholesale customers, reliable suppliers, and original website content.
Is the Price Negotiable?
I believe the price should be negotiable.
My preliminary valuation range would be approximately $630,000–$710,000, representing roughly 24x–27x monthly profit.
I could see a higher price only after confirming:
Stable chargeback levels
Successful account transfers
Supplier continuity
Channel-level profit
Repeatable cashback income
Strong working-capital availability
Low product and supplier concentration
My Honest Conclusion
This is good enough to investigate but not good enough to buy at the asking price without deeper verification.
The operation has legitimate value, but the buyer is assuming payment-processing, supplier, marketplace, working-capital, and platform-transfer risk.
I would prefer a lower purchase price, seller financing, and a meaningful holdback tied to post-transfer performance.
