Summer is always full of sunshine as well as the yellow color of lemons. Have you ever tried to think about how to prolong those brighter moments even more? Let’s start with us and our DRIED LEMON CAKE!
Allow us to tell a story about why we choose this cake to prolong summer. When lemons are ripe, they give us a priceless present of summertime. However, we can not keep this freshness for such a long time even with all our efforts. So what did we do? We put it into the oven and waited for the magic. We dried lemons.
DO THE FIRST STEP SO QUICKLY
First of all, make sure that you have some layered – sponge vanilla cake. The flavor is an optional choice depending on your taste. If you are not sure about your recipe, try another one, for example: INSERT LINK HOW TO MAKE SPONGE CAKE.
DRY LEMONS
This is the most exciting step that accounts for its transformation from freshness to dryness of the lemon. On other hand, it’s quite easy to do. All you need is lemons having been cut one by one and then put into the oven at about 100 degrees Celsius in 1 or 2 hours. Please remember that your lemons are thin enough to be beautiful when they change.
NEXT, FROST THE CAKE
Take the buttercream and scraper it to smooth the sides of the cake, then create a sharp top edge by swiping the buttercream from the outer edges toward the center of your cake on top. When your cake is looking perfectly smooth, we’ve done this step. Do this step with each tier of the cake. To make it more attractive, we used gray and yellow.
FINAL DECORATE
From the top of the cake, one by one, take the cream tips and let the dried yellow lemon slices alternately. Please place the lemon carefully and carefully, because it determines the beauty of that cake, you know - it is the superstar.
On the side of the cake, do not forget to put the lemons pieces randomly. Don’t hesitate with your creativity, just flow with it!

Our cake story comes from the inspiration of the cactus. As the hot summer approached, the garden began to dry up. All the flowers were suffering under hot weather except the cactus. So, the cactus has become a symbol of hot summer days because of its beauty and resilience.
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE A TWO–TIER SPONGE CAKE?
Are you wondering that a two–tier cake seems more difficult than a basic, simple one? Of course, my dear, it’s at a higher baking level and so that will require some necessary skills you have to follow. Both tiers should be buttery, soft, and moist. Unless you have an extra oven(s) or oven space, prepare the cake batters and bake the layer cakes one at a time. Cool the cakes completely before assembling and decorating, which we cover in a separate section below. Both cakes use the same ingredients and each has a special job, so I do not recommend substitutions.
LET’S ASSEMBLE TWO COMPLETELY SEPARATE CAKES
You are making 2 completely separate cakes and placing one on top of the other. For guaranteed support and stability, place 4 cake dowels in the bottom tier. Cake dowels are sticks that will support the top tier. You’ll have to measure and cut the dowels so they are flush with the surface of the bottom cake. Place the small tier on top. A 6-inch cake board, which I describe next, is crucial between the tiers for added support.

When your cake is looking perfectly smooth, we’ve done this step. Do this step with each tier of the cake. To make it more artistic, put some colors such as yellow, orange, green.
CREATE THE CACTUS COLOR PALETTE
Set about ¼ cup of the remaining buttercream into a separate bowl and keep it plain white. Then, divide the remaining buttercream amongst four other bowls for color mixing. For this cake, I created three different shades of green buttercream for the cactus piping and colored some of the buttercream Fuschia for the flowers.
Add the buttercream into separate piping bags. For the cactus shapes, you’ll want to fit two of the piping bags with Wilton Tip 4B and one with Wilton Tip 6B. Fit the piping bag for the white buttercream with Wilton Tip 2 and the piping bag for the Fuschia buttercream with Wilton Tip 109 (or any drop flower tip).
PIPE THE CACTI
Using the green piping bags, pipe cactus designs around the base of the cake. I used piping tip 4B to create the tall cacti by piping one vertical line, then adding the arms from there. For the shorter cacti, pipe a few open stars with piping tip 4B (for the smaller cacti) and piping tip 6B (for the larger cacti).
ADD SOME DETAILS
Pipe some drop flowers on the tops of some of the cacti using your piping bag fitted with the drop flower tip. Then, on the 6B cactus shapes, pipe some dots with the white buttercream to create the look of spines.
And what’s more about this cake? Look at some cute, color tacos. Can you guess how to make it? Is it a real taco on top of the cake? The answer is no, and it’s just made by a fondant – this material can bring everything into sweet life. Let’s try it out, my dear, and we can’t wait to see your finished products!

The strawberry seems to be the princess of every pastry kingdom because of her sweet beauty and adorable appearance. It may be small, simple, but enough to immerse our Valentine with passionate love. Moreover, each tiny petal of daisy inspires pure love becoming the most wonderful thing in the universe. Why do you need complicated ingredients while simple ones can bring subtle charm?
Instead, all you need at the first step is a well – baked classic sponge cake. You may put into four mixtures a little vanilla syrup to make your sponge cake spread its attractive aroma throughout the kitchen. With only strawberry jam for the filling in the next step, the taste of cake will really explode in your mouth. Please remember that you have to prepare a savoury whipping cream to be ready to complete this amazing cake in the last period. It will be so exciting to wait for!
Let’s finish this dreamy cake by cutting the cake layers in half horizontally (that’s 6 layers!) and then make it covered with jam and whipping cream. The strawberry jam is more evenly distributed throughout and almost “melts'' into each of the thin layers of cake. Trust me, there is no need for extra flair or fancy flavors here. Simple, light, and so good! After basic steps, place daisy on top of white cream that have been rounded by cake cap No.1A. Put some strawberry pieces behind the flower to make you cake look like it comes from your garden – fresh and pure.
