You woke up in an unfamiliar room, lying on top of Bucky's chest. A dark arm was thrown over your back. Looking around slightly, you saw that you were in Bucky, Sam, and Steve's room.
Steve was still fast asleep too, rolled over on his side, Bucky's arm underneath him. It was adorable the way that the slept together.
You closed your eyes again, relishing the feeling of being here, waking up with some of the people that you loved.
You could hear one of them stirring, either Sam or Steve as Bucky wasn't moving underneath you. You heard Steve grunt in surprise before you heard Bucky and Sam start to wake up as well. Bucky's body shifted under yours, laying you down on the bed.
"How'd she get here?" Steve asked, sounding surprised.
"We went looking at island cats last night." Bucky said with a small yawn. "And then she said she didn't want to be alone so I brought her back here so that we could all be together."
"Do you think she's okay after yesterday?" Sam's voice was worried. "Are we pushing the wedding to fast? Maybe we should back off-"
"We can't." Steve said. "As much as I would love to give her time to mourn, all of us are going to be in danger until everyone realizes that she can't be used for or against the eleven lines ritual. We can give her all the time she needs to mourn after."
"I feel helpless." Bucky admitted quietly. "This was all supposed to be a fun time for everyone. And now we're going to be crowding her with guards and-"
Suddenly, the door burst open, Tony shouting, "Y/N IS MISS-" He stopped short. "Oh. What is she doing in here?"
"She told me she didn't want to be alone last night. Don't worry, nothing happened." Bucky sighed.
"Oh." Tony said. "Okay. I panicked-"
"Clearly." Sam muttered.
"Look, any of you guys would've panicked if you had gone up to her room and it was empty." Tony defended himself.
You rolled over in bed, opening your eyes. "Morning guys."
"Morning Y/N." Steve, Sam, and Tony said together.
"Morning doll." Bucky said calmly.
"Are you still going to be with Stephen and I?" Tony asked, sounding slightly insecure which was just adorable.
"Yeah." You said, sliding out of bed, padding over to kiss Sam, Steve, and Bucky on the lips before kissing Tony and taking his hand. "Thanks for letting me stay over guys. I'll see you guys later. C'mon Tones, let's go find our handsome wizard."
Tony smiled a little and the two of you walked out of the super soldier's hotel room. Tony brought you back up to your room so that you could shower, waking yourself up effectively, and then get dressed. You tossed on a sexy one-piece bathing suit underneath another sundress, this time a forest green sort've colour.
"You look absolutely beautiful." Tony said before taking your hand again. He himself was wearing a white T-shirt and lime green swim trunks
You met Stephen, Wong, and Rhodey downstairs. Stephen was wearing no shirt, showing off his lightly defined abs, and a pair of sky blue swim trunks with red birds on them.
Wong was wearing a white shirt with black khaki pants that ended just at the knees.
Rhodey was also shirtless, like Stephen, and was wearing a pair of black swim trunks.
You smiled at them and then let them lead you to a small restaurant that wasn't very busy, ordering a light breakfast to start the day off.
"Are you okay? We couldn't find you this morning." Stephen said, his forehead creased with worry.
Your mouth was full of pancake and Tony answered for you, "The soldiers had her in their room. Buck and her went out looking at the cats and well-"
"I told Buck that I was feeling lonely so he brought me back to their room so that I didn't have to sleep alone." You finished so that there weren't any misunderstandings. "But nothing happened so you don't have to worry about that."
"No, it's fine." Stephen said. Wong smirked. Stephen glared at him out of the corner of his eye.
"What are we doing today?" Rhodey quickly asked.
"What were you going to do today?" Tony asked me.
"Oh, well, I heard that there's actually a gymnastics competition going on right now inside the hotel. I was going to go and watch them. They have a team from my hometown and I actually know the coach so that was what was supposed to happen. But I'm kind've down for whatever you guys want to do today." You rambled.
"You like watching gymnastics?" Stephen seemed surprised.
"Usually floor, because that's the most interesting." You said. "I wasn't going to stay the entire meet or multiple meets, just enough to talk to some of the team members I might know."
"Well, we can go and do that, what time will it be at?" Rhodey asked.
"One in the afternoon." You said.
Tony was setting plans into his phone. "Alright, what do you guys want to do before then?"
You shrugged, "Whatever you guys want."
"Then let's go parasailing." Tony decided.
The rest of you looked at him.
"Parasailing?" Rhodey asked skeptically.
"Sure." Tony said with a shrug, "It's not any different from flying, right?"
"Maybe we should stick to scuba diving." Stephen said quickly. "We can go parasailing. . . later."
"But then that means never." Tony complained.
You turned to Rhodey and quietly asked, "Can you swim with the leg braces on?"
"Yeah, Tony made them water resistant, and they're also very light so I won't sink or anything. Same with Bucky's arm."
You nodded, feeling a bit better that Rhodey wouldn't be left out, "Well we should probably decide on one or the other very quickly so that we can get to the Gymnastics meet rather quickly."
Tony sighed, "Very well, Scuba diving it is. I know I'll lose to parasailing."
"I bet later Sam might go parasailing with you." You suggested. "Clint too, maybe Bucky."
Tony seemed a bit happier with that.
The five of you took a Stephen portal to cut traveling by more than half. Wong was the one that got everyone's gear and Tony- naturally- paid so that you could get into the gear and head out to the water faster.
You were taken out to sea on a glass bottom boat, able to see all of the beautiful wonders of the ocean below you along with the colourful fish and sometimes, even a sea turtle or some jellyfish.
Finally, the boat came to a complete stop. Rhodey helped fix the back of your tank while you fitted your goggles over your face. You helped Wong while Stephen and Tony helped each other. Then, with the go-to of the boat captain, you all jumped overboard.
The wet suit kept you nice and warm as you swam down under the ocean waves. You were amazed by all of the bright colours of the coral reefs. Bright orange fish swam past your face in a school and you wished you had an underwater camera. But you had wanted your hands free to swim easier.
Tony, luckily, hadn't come unprepared and was taking pictures. You just hoped he got some really good ones.
The five of you swam as your own school. You swirled upwards, swimming with a bale of rather large sea turtles. One of them seemed to think your hair was sea grass, taking a tentative, non-painful taste. You giggled a little before Stephen calmly pulled the turtle away from you.
You saw an octopus as well, clinging to a large rock in the middle of the coral reef. There were also several purple and pink sea anemones, though at the moment you couldn't see any clown fish.
You saw a shark as well, though it didn't come very close. It still scared you though, being in such close proximity with a dangerous creature. It was a hammer head shark as well.
But you took comfort in that fact that statistically, you were more likely to die of taking a selfie than a shark attack.
Not to mention, Stephen wouldn't let it get that far before he would open up a magical portal and send it to another part of the ocean.
Finally though, you knew your oxygen tanks were close to being out of oxygen so you all swam upwards to where the boat was.
However, when as you popped up, you felt something icky splatter onto your head. You squeezed your eyes shut, a rancid smell filling your nostrils, and quickly dove back under the water.
Using your hands, you quickly pulled whatever was out of your hair. Had a bird pooped on you? How unlucky.
However, when you opened your eyes, you could see chunks of fish guts and drops of blood fall all around you.
What the hell?
None of the others had quite made it to the surface yet, and were all staring at you, confused. Then Stephen was swimming over to you, pulling all of you above the surface.
He ripped out his mouthpiece, "What happened?"
Looking around, you could see the boat in the distance, leaving you behind. You ripped out your mouthpiece too as Rhodey, Wong, and Tony broke the surface as well.
"I don't know, I went to get out of the water, and this all just fell on my head." You spit a little, "What the hell is it?"
"It's shark feed." Tony said, worrying in his voice, "Steph, we have to get out of here."
Stephen nodded. Rhodey popped back under and up, "Yeah, we have a lot of sharks coming, like, right now. And there are some really big ones."
Stephen opened up a portal, pushing you through it. You landed on the tiled floor of your bathroom in your hotel room. Stephen, Tony, Wong, and Rhodey landed next to you, along with a few fish that Wong tossed back into the ocean before it closed.
You quickly threw up into the toilet, both at the smell, and at the experience. "We should've gone parasailing." You finally said.
"Let's run you a bath." Stephen said calmly. "Wong, can you take the others back to the kiosk to return gear and find out what the hell just happened?"
Wong nodded. Stephen sent those three out of the room. He stripped his wet suit off, back in just his swim trunks and nothing else. He helped you out of yours to leave you in your one piece bathing suit. He handed both back to Wong and then those three were gone.
Stephen turned around as you peeled off the bathing suit, sitting in the bathtub. You breathed heavily, trying to calm down.
"They were trying to kill me, weren't they?" You finally asked.
"Most likely." Stephen's voice was soft. "I'm sorry."
"Nothing bad happened. It was a good plan, but they would've done better if I wasn't with two magicians that could use magic." You said.
"I think we should close your bedroom." Stephen said. "You can move in with Tony and I or the Super soldiers."
"What about Y/S/N?" You asked.
"She's spent the past two nights with Ben, so I think she'll be okay." Stephen said gently as he helped you wash the nasty gunk out of your hair.
You just nodded.
"Do you still want to go to that gymnastics meet? I'd understand if you just wanted to go back to one of our rooms and just relax."
"No, I want to go. I wanted to surprise them." You said. "And I'm alright except for this nasty shit."
"They wanted to make sure the sharks went for you first." Stephen said.
You shivered a little, imagining sharks biting at you and you flinched a little as Stephen's fingers brushed against your scalp.
Tony, Wong, and Rhodey came back as you had just finished up rinsing your hair. You'd washed it about four times.
Tony was fuming and Stephen moved out of the bathroom to go and talk to them.
You quickly dried off. Stephen had picked out a cute pair of denim shorts with a navy blue T-shirt with Captain America's shield on it, making you smile a little.
"You okay baby?" Tony asked after you'd dressed, crossing over to hug you.
"I'm alright Tony. It was just a scare, that's all. Are you alright?" You asked, pulling back to look at him.
"Just angry." He huffed. "I want to sue someone."
You giggled and then asked, "Rhodes? Wong? Are you both alright?"
"We're just fine Y/N." Wong assured you.
"Apparently the captain of our boat was only assigned today." Rhodey said with a bit of a shocked laugh. "So he was obviously assuming that we'd go scuba diving today."
You nodded, "How do you think they found out?"
Tony shrugged, "Stephen and I had already been deciding the possibilities yesterday. Maybe someone overheard us."
You tilted your head to the side, "Then doesn't that mean there's a possibility that there's someone waiting for us at the parasailing place?"
"Except if they're in contact with each other then they'll already have left since you went scuba diving." Stephen countered.
Yes, that made sense.
"Are we still going to that gymnastics meet?" Rhodey asked.
"I'm going to go and check in with Fury." Wong said. "He told everyone that he wants reports if anything suspicious happens on the island. I'll see you guys later."
You guys said good-bye before heading out of the hotel room.
"Maybe we could get Clint, Natasha, and Bruce to come with us." You said.
"Go where?" Clint's voice asked. The four of you looked around before Clint climbed out of the hotel vent.
"Really?" Tony and you asked at the same exact time.
"Hey! I'm trying to hide from T'Challa and Shuri, all right?" Clint defended himself. "Anyways, where are you guys going?"
"Down to the main hotel so that we can watch a gymnastics meet." Rhodey said.
"Oh, that sounds really cool." Clint said.
You guys headed downstairs and were actually headed off, not just by Natasha and Bruce, but also Wanda, Vision, Steve, Bucky, Loki, Thor, and Sam.
So basically everyone except Fury and T'Challa.
You led the way since you were the only that actually knew where the meet was being held, although Steve and Bucky were very close to you. You wondered if they knew about the shark incident.
"What's got Tony's feathers in a ruffle?" Bucky asked you.
"Oh, it was just a scuba diving incident, that's all." You said nonchalantly.
"What kind of 'incident'?" Steve demanded.
"Um it involved them dumping shark bait in the water and driving off to leave us there." You said.
Bucky and Steve immediately turned to start badgering Tony and Stephen with a thousand questions while you kept walking. Loki and Thor were next to claim their sides and they immediately let me know that they already knew about the incident.
"Seriously, they thought sharks could kill you." Loki scoffed.
"Puny creatures of the water." Thor also scoffed.
"Well, you're both also gods." You said with a small smile. "Sharks do kill people all of the time."
"I think you should spend tomorrow with us." Loki said.
"That sounds good, I hardly get to spend any time with Thor anyways." You said, winking at Loki who rolled his eyes.
"Very true my lady." Thor said. "We need to spend much more time together."
You bought five dollar tickets to get into the gymnastics event before you led the way to the bleachers. You guys tried to stay in the back so that the presence of basically all of the world's superheroes didn't distract the gymnasts from performing their best.
"Which team were you here to see?" Thor asked me.
"Mason Twisters." You said, pointing them out. You could already pick out so many familiar faces as they were warming up for the floor routine. You could see Katerina moving through her motions, in contrast to Ila who was making sure every single one of her movements was perfect.
Their leotards were a dark navy blue, silver sequins on the top of the leotard. The sleeves started out the same colour blue before moving through green and ending in white. You knew from experience that there were studded sequins in a double row along the cuff of the sleeves which were three-quarter sleeves.
You could see Elizabeth, her hair in an immaculate bun as always. She was working on her full turn where she had to bend her knee on pointed toe, before straightening her leg to a full point, all in the time of one spin. Hard, but she could do it.
Isa was there as well, along with Sarah A., both of them working on different skills.
And then finally, Coach Yonce who was walking Katerina through on the steps of her routine. The African American woman kept clapping her hands quietly to the beat so that Katerina had a rhythm to practice to.
You smiled a little, wiggling slightly in anticipation. There were four events: Bars, Beam, Floor, and Vault. Floor was the most interesting to watch, because once you got past level five into the 'metals' (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond), you finally got your own routine to music of your choice. Your routine fit you as a person. Up until that point, (level 2-5) everyone had the same routine and the same music.
Your floor music had been: F/S.
You were predicting that Elizabeth would score high on bars, low on vault, and then mid on beam and floor while Katerina would get a high score on beam and floor, mid on vault and low on bars. Isa you expected to score low in everything. Ila you expected to score high on bars and mid on everything else. Sarah. . . well she was a whole other story that one.
It was clear that you had missed vault. You didn't know how they had scored though.
Katerina went first on floor once their turns came up. Her floor music was 'Secrets', and she had a very slow dance routine. It matched her in the fact that she played violin and she had a hell of a lot of secrets.
Though she didn't score as high as you thought she might, the other girls went, scoring pretty much as expected.
Elizabeth was last, waiting on the floor in her waiting position. She had a very unique routine and music, as she had chosen Rhapsody in Blue as her song. It was a classical song, unlike the pop that everyone else usually chose for their routines.
She was a wonderful dancer, which fit with her routine, and she looked absolutely elegant and graceful as she moved across the floor.
Of course, in gymnastics, it's hard to have a majority dance routine score high, as they were more looking for the tumbling than the dance.
"She is very graceful." Vision commented next to you to Wanda. Wanda nodded her head. You beamed with pride like a proud mother.
Once Elizabeth's routine came to an end with a graceful slide to the floor, one hand positioned over her face like she was looking into a mirror, the crowd erupted into loud applause.
She saluted the judges and then headed off to where the others were waiting, high-fiving and hugging them. Waiting for her score, she received a 9.4.
(In girls gymnastics, a 10 is the highest you can get. 9.5's and up are almost guaranteed first places, but also extremely hard to get).
You were very pleased with this, clapping as well. Elizabeth looked rather pleased.
The beam and the bars went by quickly as well. There were also boys competing on the other side of the gym, which some of your soulmates took interest in, comparing the two groups of athletes.
Once the meet ended, you bounced down the bleachers as the Mason Twisters started to walk out. Elizabeth spotted you first- she was always scanning rooms to see who was around and always aware of her surroundings. Her face lit up into a surprised smile.
"Hey!" She squealed, bouncing over to hug you, which drew the attention of your other past teammates and ex-coach.
"Y/N!" Katerina shouted, also wrapping you in a hug.
"Hey mama." Yonce said, also giving you a hug. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm getting married." You said sheepishly. "In a few days.
"You found your soulmates?" Elizabeth asked, surprised.
"Yeah." You said, blushing and motioning behind you. Her brown eyes followed your line of vision and her eyes widened. "Oh shit."
"Elizabeth!" Yonce scolded her, although she also looked just as flustered.
"Seriously?" Sarah seemed surprised, "Damn you go girl."
You laughed.
"Do you think I could get some of them to autograph my bag?" Elizabeth asked seriously.
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind."
The others left the two of you there. Elizabeth had always seemed like a little sister to you. She ducked under the line that prevented the spectators from getting in the gymnasts way.
"Hey," Elizabeth murmured as you guys walked back, "Have you noticed that there's some really strange people on this island?"
"Do you mean alien strange or-"
"No. Like just. . . creepy people." Elizabeth said, shuddering a little. But by now we had reached the superheroes.
"Hi, I'm Elizabeth." Elizabeth said awkwardly.
Vision was the first to step forward, "I am Vision."
Elizabeth's left hand twitched and everyone watched as visions' name was imprinted on her arm.
"What the fuck?" Elizabeth blurted out. She looked at you. You shrugged, "Yeah, that was basically how it was for me too."
"Well, that was unexpected." Tony commented, "I'm Tony."
"Yeah, I know." Elizabeth said, shaking off her shock to shake his hand. "I have a friend whose trying to replicated your iron man suit."
"Really, so I have some competition?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Elizabeth laughed, already falling comfortably in with them, "Not for a few more years at least."
The others introduced themselves and then they passed her bag around so that they could sign it. Elizabeth was ecstatic when she got it back.
"Elizabeth!" Her brother shouted from the door. He had just come looking for her, a book tucked under his arm, "They're getting to your age range. You better hurry up or your coach will blow a fuse."
"Right. Be right there!" Elizabeth shouted back before turning to you. "So tonight the team is going out to eat pizza and then we're going Karokeing- is that a word- tomorrow. You want to come?"
"Sure." You answered without thinking.
"Fantastic." Elizabeth beamed. "Are you coming to the award ceremony?"
"Of course. That's the best part." You said with a grin. The others slowly followed behind the two of you as you abandoned the nearly empty gymnasium. "Do you think you placed on anything?"
"No." Elizabeth said with a laugh, "Maybe floor."
She went off to sit with the rest of the teammates while the rest of you stood near the back. Once they reached Elizabeth's age range, she placed Third on bars, First on Floor, and second all around.
She beamed as she came back over to you guys.
"You need to give yourself more credit." Vision said as she came over, "You have the extraordinary ability to blend your dance with your acrobatics."
Elizabeth's mouth dropped into an 'o' shape before saying, "Thanks. . . I think."
"Yes. It was a compliment." Vision said in the same voice.
You and Wanda giggled at the same time.
"Come on, let's go eat." Elizabeth said, hooking her arm with yours and Wanda's, dragging you after her gymnastics coach.
Summary: Devi can't exactly protest when Morena decides to take her on an excursion to prepare for her and Gale's upcoming wedding. As it turns out, she has nothing to be apprehensive about.
Devi tried to not feel nervous as she poked at her breakfast. Morena was coming by today to take her on an excursion to help prepare for her and Gale's upcoming wedding – and dear gods, she was anxious. Gale had assured her that his mother liked the former thief, but that didn't do much to ease the knot of anxiety in her belly at the prospect of spending a full day with her future mother-in-law.
A hand was set over hers on the table, gently squeezing. “Relax, love,” Gale murmured, smiling at her. “Mother does like you – I promise. She wants a chance to get to know you a little better.”
“Easy for you to say,” Devi responded. “It's not your mother-in-law.”
Gale smirked. “No, but I do get the pleasure of your brother and his husband taking me out for drinks so they can threaten me again about breaking your heart…”
“Jehn wouldn't–” Devi paused. “... Okay, he would threaten you. He's been doing that to other people since I was little. But he knows I love and trust you.”
“And you did the same thing to Ferrus before their wedding,” Gale chuckled. “You two are protective of each other – that is admirable.” He lifted her hand to his lips to kiss it. “Mother isn't going to threaten you like that. She's satisfied that you aren't using me or going to hurt me, love – she just wants to get to know you.”
Devi offered her betrothed a nervous smile, then jumped at a knock on the door. “Speaking of which…” Gale murmured as he got to his feet, leaving another kiss in Devi's hair before he left the dining room. He returned a couple of minutes later, Morena trailing behind him. “Are you sure I can't offer you anything for breakfast, Mother?”
“... Well, all right, I can be swayed for a cup of tea, I suppose,” Morena allowed as she sat down at the table, giving Devi a smile. “Good morning, Devi.”
“Morning!” Devi brightly offered, shoving her nerves down. Hells, what did she even call Gale's mother? ‘Morena’ was entirely too casual, ‘Mrs. Dekarios’ was far too formal – although perhaps the safer option for now? “Did you rest well?”
“I did, thank you.” Morena accepted the tea cup that Gale handed her. “Are you looking forward to our day together?”
“I was thinking about it all night,” Devi answered. Which wasn't untrue – her anxieties had kicked in around the witching hour, and still hadn't abated.
Morena smiled. “Wonderful!” She looked over at Gale. “And I'm sure you'll have something to occupy your day in the meantime, hmm?”
“Indeed. I've a meeting at Blackstaff to go over my new teaching position, and then Devi's brother and his husband want to meet with me later on.” Gale took a sip of his own tea. “Do I get to inquire as to what you ladies will be up to today?”
How would ilene and kong have their wedding? I feel like they'd have a human wedding and a great ape wedding.
It would take a lot for Ilene and Kong to invite them all for their wedding, but it doesn't mean they'll gonna put eggs in one basket.
There are a lot of preparations, the reception and the wedding's location (it should be safer), caterers, bunch of bouquets, etc. Let's not forget about the Iwi tradition.
Of course, Kong had invited all of the Great Apes (plus Shimo and Suko) to the event; they even brought some food that are common to their kind (Kong had to make sure they'll be in good manners).
Plus, Kong invited Godzilla and Mothra since he and the King were now in good terms all thanks to their teamwork. The King and Queen would never leave their precious adopted human daughter and Mothra Astra's human incarnation: Ma. Celestina, in this event, even Mothra Leo and Battra (emo edgelord needs to shut his mouth or his niece will beat him out of his daylights)
On Ilene's side, she invite only her family, friends, and peers (those who work at Monarch and would not attend this event are only used via Zoom Meeting live). She would never forget the Iwis, yes, Jia insisted it.
Let's see, about their outfit. It may be possible to have it wear an Iwi clothing, but this is another option. Kong would have at least fitted the tux in his human form. My choice is to have a normal wedding. After that, on the next day, there would be an Iwi ceremonial between them since Kong was the Protector and Guardian of the Iwis and the Humanity and the King of Hollow Earth (formerly Skull Island), Ilene must be his Queen. Tradition is a must.
Ma. Celestina has her own inquisitive skills of tailoring ("That's my daughter!" Godzilla laughed gleefully).
It was a very unique wedding for them. There would be lots of joy, tears, happiness, and a blissful celebration. I mean, their guests were a mix of humans and the apes, but still it was like they coexist to one another in harmony and peace.
P.S.
@gorillageek27 Looks like I'm gonna craft the designs of Ilene Andrews' ceremonial garb of the Iwi and the Queen of Hollow Earth. 😉
