so what if instead of just having the worst luck with crushes and always picking the ones whose dead spouses are secretly alive, wedge actually has the unfortunate ability of bringing back someone’s dead spouse once he falls in love with them. he is somewhat famous for this, yet remains oblivious to the fact himself. this leads to darth vader attempting to woo wedge so wedge will fall in love with him and padmé will come back

what are the parameters of presumed widowship that causes wedge to get a crush. like i get that the spouse has to be not dead but like. would it count if it wasn't a spouse but instead they were just DATING and then one of them fake died in a z-95 implosion and we, the readers, know he's just naked and vibrating, but his evil spy semi gf who he was about to dump for someone who is BASICALLY wedge's sister thinks he's dead, would wedge be into that? (note: not my idea. inspired by rogue pod)
