One of my MANY grievances with the Bleach TYBW epilogue is Rukia marrying Renji.

I Fucking HATE Renji!

YOU abandoned your friend, of whom you are their only friend, for 40 years because YOU decided you aren't good enough to hang out anymore.

YOU set a goal to start hanging out with them again and plan to just pick up your friendship as if nothing happened.

But before you can enact your genius plan, they get in trouble with the law, so instead of trying to intervene on their behalf, which is never shown or hinted at in story, YOU try your hardest to ensure they're arrested.

& when Rukia is sentenced to execution, something everyone says is a disproportionate punishment, YOU do everything in your power to ensure their sentence is carried out.

BUT when you fail, as you do in all things because you suck, YOU beg others to help Rukia!

My head cannon is that Rukia had a bit too much alcohol at the wedding/reception for Ichigo and Orihime, had a drunken one night stand with Renji, and that resulted in their daughter. Byakuya arranged for Rukia and Renji to marry because of Old Money views on children born out of wedlock & Rukia went along with the marriage to not shame her brother or daughter but she doesn't let Renji touch her because Renji can Fuck Himself.
