Quarantine ask: 4, 28, 37, 44, 49
Oh man, P! These questions made me think! Thank you for asking them.
4. Your go-to bar order, if you drink?
Vodka tonic, but now that I can’t have bubbles…Like nothing. I just get still water. I’m slowly starting to be able to drink *some* fizzy things, but I probably am not likely to go to a bar and drink any more. Maybe a vodka martini if needs must? I think I *might* have ordered a cosmopolitan the last time I got a drink when I was in Toronto? I legit can’t remember. The popcorn shrimp were spicy and delicious during that same dinner and drinks tho so…that should tell you everything you need to know about me maybe
28. What’s one thing you’re trying to learn/relearn in your downtime right now?
I am barely keeping my head above water with school and work (am heading into work for a few hours right now on my weekend so…) even with school being less intense than it normally is. So no new skills for me. I am writing a lot more fic than I would have expected, which has sort of helped keep me from feeling too overwhelmed…until it’s the thing that is overwhelming me, which does happen.
37. Lakes, rivers, or oceans?
Rivers in the mountains are my jam. Like…I dig oceans and lakes are relatively new experiences to me, but if I had to choose, a small moving river in the mountains is a happy place for me. Growing up we used to spend at least part of our summers walking up mountains partially through rivers and man I haven’t done that in so long but I’m missing it a lot right now.
44. Are you a “Quote that relates to the photos” caption-er, an “explanation of where I took the photos” caption-er, or a no caption kinda person when you post pictures online?
So I had to actually look at my captions on Instagram for this (I’m a pretty infrequent poster) and I’d say I rarely say where I am in the photos, but I do talk about how I’m feeling or who I’m with and why I dig them. So whatever category that falls into.
49. What’s something that you don’t have a picture of that you wish you did?
So this is interesting, but when my dad died we had very, very few full family pictures with him. Which…makes sense when you look back at that time and know the history, but we’ve gotten a little more deliberate to make sure that we have more pictures of us in groups and all together when possible.
Otherwise I just kinda wish that I had more photos with my grandma. She died in 1997 and so it was pre-easy photos (though obviously easier than other times previous to that). And she was one of those that didn’t love having photos of herself taken, and me at 15 HATED having photos of myself taken (or rather, I thought I was supposed to hate it and so I demurred and people let me, which yay but also just confirmed my thought process that they didn’t really want photos of me anyway…hurray for how society has fucked up teenage girls! *blink*) so that combo just…yeah. There’s like one photo of me with her after I’m 10 years old which is shitty.
