Top 5 Weirdest Kids Shows
So originally this was going to be a Top 5 Kids Shows You Don't Remember list but there are just so many weird shows for kids that I really wanted to talk about and I feel like I could probably do multiple of these posts. I also apologize if I can't find all the info for these shows since some of them may be older or just not very well known. With that said let's get into it...
1. Boobahs:
Okay this one isn't very surprising and you can probably see this on every list like this one. If there was/is a weird kids show iceberg this one would be at the top, most of us probably know this show but for those who don't Boobah was a kids television show on Cbeebies and ITV1.
It was meant to get toddlers to get up and moving but to a lot of us we just look at it and think it's weird as hell like some weird fever dream. Imagine getting high while watching this shit, that would probably be fun actually lol!
2. In The Night Garden:
Okay this show is also probably one that is somewhat well known but I think we can agree it is a bit odd.
In the Night Garden was made by one of the people who made Teletubbies so it's not really a surprise that this would be made. This show is intended for 2 to 4 year olds and the characters speak in baby babble.
The show was meant to entertain kids before bedtime and I think it did a good job with that. The show was also on cbeebies and Treehouse TV.
3. H.R. PufnStuf:
Okay before I get into this I wanted to add that I have never watched this show myself but I have heard about how weird it is.
So this show is about this kid named Jimmy who gets shipwrecked on this island called Living Island and must escape from the witch named Witchiepoo who is hunting him down for his flute and while doing that he tries to find his way home.
People like to assume that the people who made this show took drugs but the say they haven't.
4. Wee 3:
This show is Canadian and fricking weird lol! So Wee 3 is a show for preschoolers and I remember this playing late at night.
It's about three monsters who live in a child's bedroom but only come out when the kid is absent and they play games and they work out their fears by playing fantasy games. I find this funny because this show probably gave kids some bad dreams and probably became a fear themselves lol!
The show was targeted to kids 3 to 7.
5. The Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson Program:
Now say that five times! That is a long title. This one felt perfect for this post and I just had to add it.
So this was a public access show from 1988 to 2008 and was run by David Liebe Hart. The show was known to be very bizarre at times and it featured puppets one of them being named Albert Hermann. There was also a panda named Teddy Eddy that spoke in a pseudo English accent but he was later replaced by an alien character.
Albert would sometimes break into religious hymns but it came out sounding cult like and his words never really matched his lips which was due to poor puppeteering, he would also condemn alchohol and drugs. This show ran for 20 years and possibly amassed around thousands of episodes.
The creator, David Liebe Hart has been featured on Adult Swims Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! And was also featured in the Shrek Retold video too i guess lol! David Liebe Hart is still around and doing things.
Its definitely interesting to hear about these weird shows especially the ones I never watched. You bet I will be making another one of these soon lol!
With that said I hope you liked this post I make a lot of content centered around nostalgia and it's really fun to make these. If you liked this give me a like and a follow and i hope you are able to find more content you like on here.
