The lady!gnome is riding on a fox and she is drunk, ale in hand or however you wanna do it. The Fox can be annoyed or happy or however you wanna go with it - I trust you and it isn't like these are character I've thought up. I just really love drunk gnomes.

I don't know if I can be the hero of someone who finds Gnomes scary. Sure there are gnomes you should be scared of, but David the Gnome kind of Gnomes? Naaaaaw... Okay, maybe a little cautious - but not like super scared. Although I'm not one to tell people what they "should" or "shouldn't" be scared of, dear Christ. I've practically broken a laptop when an unexpected picture of ET popped up once so. No judgements from me - I shall hero on.
Now that you mention the "Regina could have picked it up" thing, yeah, that does bother me a bit. Unless Henry was in Dr. Hopper's office. Crap, that is a bothersome plot hole. All this time I was irritated more so on how two scenes transitions were edited than on the possibility of Regina finding out.
Glad I'm not the only one who sees it then. I suppose he could have been with Archie, but then Archie would have likely picked up so...yeah, plot hole. I do agree with you though. The transitioning was really irritating! I'm always paying attention to the transitions and editing and I've been bothered on a few occasions. As far as editing goes, for example, I've even spotted a few times where you can see that they went to say something else, but it was dubbed over with something else after the fact. I probably shouldn't be paying this close attention to everything and should just enjoy the show with abandon, but I can't help it lol.
Actually, it's been confirmed that August didn't write The Book and that it was Henry that he called in The Return. I don't have a direct source for the former (its out there I promise), but Jane Espenson confirmed the later on her Twitter account. I do however really like your speculation about the book having been created with the help of the faries information-network. It makes some sense to me that whoever did write the book had to get all those stories somehow, quickly enough anyway.
Thanks for the info. I knew the first one since I read the interview, but I didn't know the second one. Hmm, well, once again Jane Espenson is the bane of my existence xD Not really, but IDK, the writers all do irritate me sometimes with their fallible logic from script to script (not the overall storyarc). My reason for this one is that, realistically (and yes, I get that we're supposed to suspend our belief), it doesn't make sense for him to have called a kid without saying anything other than something about "accelerating the plan." Regina could have easily picked up. I assumed that's why they made it a point for Henry to get the walkie talkies for himself and Emma. Why backtrack on that and make it possible for anyone to just call Henry up, state his business and hang up? It just feels like poor writing :/ I think they could have done something else if it was intended for the call to have gone through to Henry. I understand the point of trying to be mysterious and deceptive, but if they're going to show Henry in the next scene and then even confirm it to fans later, then there's really not any point of having the phone call scene in the first place.
Sigh. But anyways, thanks again for the info and for seeing some merit in my speculation about the book :)
