Recently, I had an urge to re-watch Elfen Lied for the first time since 2007(/08?). So I did.
Wow, what a blast from the past that anime was. I totally forgot it is basically eroguro.
Funny how it is better and worse at the same time, compared to what I remembered. It is bloody, violent, heavy, naive, messy and abrupt. It feels more like a vignette to the manga than a distinct series. Which is fair, considering it was airing before manga was finished. I should read it someday.
But at that time it felt akin to a revelation.
