Sooo today

I told my mom about how I’m on a sobriety break. My parents know I drink and smoke, not about any other stuff really. She was so happy to hear about though and had something awesome to say. ” You’ll notice when you take those things out of your life, you see more of the real you come out. You’ll see more of yourself, those things don’t bring them out, they only hide them” I couldn’t agree more. I definitely feel like the last few weeks I’ve doing things like the real me would. I don’t feel clouded thoughts or confused feelings like I used to. Everything feels real and I love it! Happy mother’s day and all that(:

About how stoners are like camels with THC humps to keep us stoned all the time. But today when I woke up, it felt like when I used to wake up after a long night of blazing. Even now, a few hours into the day I feel all cloudy but I still have focus. I had a ton of caffeine yesterday though so I'm thinking that has something to do with it. My roommates friend was offering me bong tokes this morning out of this gorgeoussss green glass beauty he just got. I almost caved with the thought "one hit won't be that baaaad" but then I remembered all the crap I have to do all day and it reminded me that this was the trap I always put myself in. I'm sure if I took a rip I would be fucking up one of my tests or the scholarship audition I have later today. But I stayed strong! Almost at a whole week now! :D

Today

I've been offered weed 4 times now...its so temptinggg. It seems like it'll be harmless especially now coz my day is pretty much over....I want to stick to this though....I need to find a way to kill a few hours before this walk in the park gig and getting high or drunk just seems like exactly what to do......I gotta stick to this though. I haven't even gotten through one fuckin day yet. Its still not even all out of my system yet >.<

Alright, yo, my name is Ruben de la Huerga. I hail from the little burg of Albuquerque, New Mexico and right about now I'm studying it up in the Portland. Over these past few years I've made it my mission to just consume as much music from as many genres, eras, and nations as possible, taking inspiration from my one and only idol, my main man Scaruffi. If you haven't heard about that dog, ignore this shit and go Askjeeves that, fast. If you have, lemme continue. Now, I know that the infallible Scaruffi is nearly flawless but I gotta admit that the man has fallen off a bit, hasn't even given a single album from the 21st century the label of 'masterpiece.' And I'm just like, whoa hold the phone, what about that Centipede Hz?!?! Anyway I was reading up on the guy and I found out the way his whole franchise got fired up was due to his homies always on his jock, begging for music recommendations, so he just went & threw up some essential lists on the net. But you know what, that personal level of recommendation sounds a little attractive to me, a little beautiful. So I'mma come out and say it: I'm opening up shop!!! If you've been looking for that one artist to open you up to a whole new world, if you've had it up to here with the barrage of mediocrity that you're surrounded by, if you just love a band and ever wondered where their influences came from, I'm here.
