NWM 2015 Challenges Week 1
So, here we see my bedroom. Looks like the room of a 45 year-old, mature, adult female, no? That’s because I’m not. On my dresser is my wee collection of Pop! figurines, and a whole slew of candles. I have pink twinkle lights along the ceiling, because I love the effect the light gives (for real… change your bedroom lamp bulbs to pink…they make your skin look gorgeous!). I love owls, and have a few about my room.
Make a collage or a picture set post about what healthy living means to you.
Healthy living is making the conscious choice to be active and make healthy eating a priority. For me, it means choosing to bring my lunch to work instead of ordering out, and to engage in activities I enjoy that are good for me. like biking and hiking.
Take a picture of your best feature and brag about it!
I am rather fond of my lips. They have a nice shape, they are soft, and they create a nice smile.
See yourself clearly. Take a picture of a “problem area” and make a post about it. Then say something nice about the same spot.
The booty! It is a problem area, because it makes pants shopping a real trial.
I can say that it is firm, and I can feel the muscles in it, which means it is strong. And, I like that there is now a definite starting/ending point where the thighs and booty meet.
Post about your daily rituals. What ones are fitness related? Which do you think are unique to you?
Daily rituals…..hmmm…. well, if I am not working… at 0615 my alarm goes off, and I listen to make sure the Kiddo is in the shower. While I wait for him to get out, I check the tumblr for a bit. Then I go hang out with him until he heads to the bus stop. He usually will play the latest movie or game review from his favorite You Tube dudes. I usually will make myself a smoothie or something at this time, as well. After he leaves, I will stretch out, and decide what I am going to do in the morning, and I usually go to the gym at anytime between 10 am - 1 PM, and I will stay for about 1.5 hours doing cardio and weights. I try to miss the morning and afternoon rushes. If I have any other outside chores (groceries, etc.), I try to take care of those after the gym. If it is a day that I will be working at night, I will take a nap from noon til 4 pm. Then I get up, make dinner for the Kiddo and myself, and pack my lunch. 5 pm is shower time (and I put the fitbit to charge while I shower), and I am usually dressed, dried and out the door by 6 Pm. Work starts at 6:45, but my commute is only 10 minutes. So, I use the extra half hour to walk around the medical center to make steps for my fitbit. Then I fill myself a huge cup of water and clock in. The rest of the night is work. If I am working three nights in a row, I usually do not gym on the second and third days, simply because I don’t get enough sleep, and I am beat after working all night. But, I do still get the half hour of walking at the hospital, and I try to stretch out a home when I wake up. On my nights off, I usually try to be in bed by 10 pm. If I miss my sleepy time, then third shift syndrome kicks in and I am up all night, and can’t get off the night schedule. I guess some of it is unique to me, just because the nature of my work.
