Day 1: - Zilch.
Creative Time: 0mins, during this busy day.
Day 2: Started chipping away at minor corrections as well as picking up notes for the Undefined Lady Bits Song.
Creative Time: 20mins, before work; 30 during lunch; 20mins, after work
Day 3: Big leap in lyric writing and picking up 1st wave of notes, many of which actually were written prior to starting Lord 2 up again this month. Also big creative leap for structure of rebel song chorus and the song with the 3 leading ladies, now called Undefined!
Creative Time: 20mins, before work; 60 during lunch; 20mins, after work; 60mins in the evening
Day 4: No lunch options today or after work because I went straight to an appt but pushed through some editing in the morning.
Creative Time: 30mins, on way to work
Day 5: Big leap in lyric writing and picking up 2nd wave of notes. These are all the notes since restarting Lord 2 this month. I finally added all my hand written notes and more ideas and notes to the music index document. Finished this after work lunch. Now I would like to move onto flushing out the music a little bit more before next week. Once I get to next week, I will pick up a few script revisions that are still outstanding and as I do that I will revise the lyrics in the context of the script, to make sure I’m not being redundant and I’m also not missing anything.
I made big strides by staying up tonight, a little bit later than usual. I managed to jump ahead and pick up all but 4 of the remaining notes. Out of the 4 left, I have 2 that I'm debating and 2 that involve unfinished scenes surrounding the new songs that need to be written or completed. Even though I originally said I would work on lyrics first, I think it makes sense to read the script in order now and work on sections of dialogue and stage direction surrounding the songs or within the songs as I reach each song in order. That way I will understand that song in the context of the show. Where are the characters coming from and where are they going? I guess I can start that tomorrow.

Day 6: Officiallay bit the bullet during the previous edits I mentioned earlier in thist post and I officially changed Elvis 2's name to Rockabilly 2. It avoids a lot of issues, mostly with regard to copyright but it also gives the character more flexibility in the intepretation. People probably don't have any preset ideas of who rockabilly 2 is. Just to be sure I caught every “find and replace” change in the correct case, I went through the script and revised any that were not changed or were not in all caps. After that I worked on reading through the scipt and picking up song changes as I go. I made it up to the moment just before song 3 when I had to stop.
Creative Time: 20mins, before work; 60 during lunch; 20mins, after work
Day 7: Rare moment in which Liz and Leander were playing and watching a movie together and I was able to hammer through some writing. I continued with my idea of reading through the script and I left off on Song 3: “In an Instant”. I worked out mostly that song and the context surrounding it but before I continued reading the script I did jump ahead and make a few changes I thought of for “Undefined.” Sometimes when you find a catchy rhyme scheme, lyrics, or rhythm, you just need to go with it. That is where I left off.
Creative Time: 90mins in the evening.
CONCEPT UPDATES/CHANGES: Not huge changes but I did make a choice to make Guest 2 a little more cynical and sarcastic in the song, “In an Instant” I don't want to turn this character into Secretary 2, so the sarcasm was not as pronounce but I did want a little more contrast between the ways that Barmaid 2 and Guest 2 react to the idea of them suddenly becoming best friends.
PICTURES/NOTES: I actually grabbed some redlines example sheets so you could see the process. Now I need to get those notes on this page.
