Apple Pie Oatmeal with Caramel Drizzle (V, GF)
For a morning recipe that’s easy as apple pie, look no further than… the end of this very post! This recipe was practically invented for fall mornings—not only will its warmth and depth of flavour restore your faith in the world (on even the darkest of pre-Daylight Savings mornings), but it showcases Ontario’s best seasonal harvest—apples!
Apple Pie Oatmeal Ingredients:
1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
1 large Ontario apple, grated
Caramel Drizzle Ingredients:
Bring two cups of water with a pinch of salt to a boil.
Add your oats, then reduce the heat to low.
Once everything has reduced by about half, mix in your grated apple, cinnamon, and vanilla. Cook until it reaches your preferred oatmeal consistency.
As your oatmeal is cooking, prepare the caramel drizzle. This is super easy—we prefer to keep things straightforward at this time of morning. Simply mix together all the drizzle ingredients in a bowl, et voilà!
Serve the oatmeal right away. Top with a scoop of the caramel, freshly sliced apples, a sprinkling of walnuts, and a splash of Greenhouse Almondmilk.
