The Master Chef Explores Miami
The title “ Master Chef”, bestowed by the American Culinary Federation is only held by about 100 of America’s top chefs, and is not easy to achieve.
I am honored to call one of these Culinary Masters my friend, Salvatore Giselu, of Urban Crust in Dallas. Last night I got to catch up with him in Brickell on the last night of a boys trip he took to MIA.
Tore met 3 of his oldest Italian friends for a little break from inside the kitchen and I could not wait to see my sweet friend and hear about his favorite parts of the weekend. Here are the highlights:
Pubbelly Sushi- The boys had “a lot of sushi” that was “so good.” Some dishes that stood out in Tore’s mind were the oysters and the tostones con ceviche.
Dancing late night at the Faena Hotel.
Followed by Tacos at Bodega
The outdoor lounging bed + champagne at South Beach’s Nikki Beach for some sun.
The old Italian friends weren’t too impressed with their chosen Cuban meal on Saturday night but loved brunch at the SoHo Beach House Sunday morning. Master Chef Tore does not shy away from a buffet as long as it is done right and he was super impressed with the $55/person meal at Cecconi’s inside this exclusive club.
And what was the culinary highlight of their weekend?
With a gleam in his eye Tore said, “Meredith, you will not believe the roasted cauliflower... they just did it perfectly. The whole meal was fantastic.”
