List a few fictional characters that provide(d) you with inspiration for your current OC and briefly explain why.
While I don’t typically create a character based on other characters, I do think there is some influence from various things I’ve watched over the years in how I portray them.
Merida, Brave: Merida’s skill with the bow is something that I link often to any of the character’s I write with archery as a skill. Both versions of Elissaria, that skill is a central feature of their character make up. They are someone who prefers the feel of using the bow over other options available.
Fran, Final Fantasy 12: Fran is directly responsible for Elissaria being an viera. I adored Fran and almost always had her in my party when playing through 12. I like the lore that was first introduced in that part of the franchise and has continued on in 14.
Neytiri, Avatar: The connection Neytiri shares with her woods while not a conscious decision to emulate, is something that I do believe I have built into Elissaria’s background and while I don’t often get to show that side of her, its there hovering in the background.
Furiosa, Mad Max Fury Road: The determination Furiosa has to save and protect all the women she’s claimed as her tribe is something I want Elissaria to have about the members of the Graveyard Company. They aren’t blood family but most assuredly found family and that protective streak is there.
Trinity, Matrix: The little bit of sass I let loose at times on Elissaria is a result of character impressions from those like Trinity. The strong support who can hold her own in a fight but will do what is necessary to help is something I want Elissaria to embody.
Shandris Feathermoon, WoW: I would be lying if I didn’t say that Shandris was an inspiration for the original Elissaria. That influence is still in Final Fantasy Elissaria and may be one of the few things that transferred over.
