I worked in the garden just a little bit today! Things are coming back pretty nicely all things considered. The mums are about to bloom and the Angel’s trumpets are budding! The basil reseeded itself so I have tiny tiny basil growing by our big basil and thankfully our spinach haven’t died yet! Granted I’ve yet to plant them. I’m kind of a little afraid to. At some point I know that i will have to. But today was not that day.

So I had been keeping all of the tags from the plants we buy and plant just as a way to keep track and remember the things we plant. And our wonderful grey cat named Spooky Jack aka “Boo” for short has been making a game of finding them and my seed packets and hiding them around the house. So I took matters into my own hands and made a binder to keep track of them. No BOOS allowed.

Weekly Upkeep 5/26

In the last week we announced we would be working to develop more of the world and culture as a whole; as we figure out what each culture is like and how we shape the world for Necromantic, were able to flesh out each character more and make the game a bit more fun!! We have also worked on a couple things we didnt announce as well. Without further ado, heres the upkeeping notes from the last week!

Map progress

We have a land map of the kingdom territory the game takes place in

Map has been marked up to show where things are in the kingdom such as the fish market, the capital, where the game is mainly taking place, and more.

Culture Update: Selkies

Figured out popular Selkie treats and food culture

Determined how Selkie young is raised and common games they might play

Working on developing Selkie holidays and base religions as well as their cultural relationships with other waterborne races

Decided around Selkies views on body fat as a water based race (positive <3)

As a general note, not all culture notes will come into play in the game! These are general worldbuilding things we are using to develop the cultures, see how each character fits within their racial heritage and the world around them as a whole! We would love to go into more details about the culture updates as a whole on a separate post when we can though!

Upkeeping;

Today weve intoduced a new section of the cast, semi-revealed the games placement, and updated the character list! Next were working on is the map to get a better idea of where everything in the game is, adding in more characters as courtesy of our off-team helper, and developing the cultures each character comes from more!! From now on ill be trying to better keep everyone updated by introducing a weekly upkeep to talk about what weve done in the week and what were working on going ahead! these will be on Mondays, or at least try to be!

Today was a good harvest! I pulled some yarrow, basil, lobelia, plumeria, marigolds, echinacea, habanero, tomatoes salsa peppers, ball moss and cicada shells! Not all of these are for eating (the cicada shells obvs) but I love to have them. They remind me of being a little girl. Did you know ball moss blooms? I was today years old when I realized that.

I also finished out the back of the garden behind the chiminea. I found some salvia a Walmart for $2.50 a pot on clearance and could not leave them there. I love he way that salvia smells. Makes my heart so happy! It turned out so great and I am so happy I did it!
