The idea is that I pick one song per week and post a video of me playing it all the way through, using a chorded instrument that I can sing along with. (Usually guitar, but it’s been banjo one week and ukulele another week.)
This is to get me more comfortable with “playing and singing” at the same time, to expand my chord vocabulary, and to make me a bit more performance-oriented. I’ve spent my entire adult life messing around with sound and audio and ambient weird soundscapes, but it’s a damn shame that at no point have I developed instrument abilities beyond “it’s fun to jam on the bass”. This project is a way to move towards rectifying that.
I’m also likely going to post an essay or two about this project as an exercise in autodidacticism,
