╳ How would they react to seeing a loved one become possessed? ( not asking for reasons or anything >.> )

it DEPENDS -- on what the specific type of possession is, whether it’s something he knows a little or a lot about. eli has limited knowledge of demonic/angelic possession, as his work doesn’t include dealing with possessed individuals so there’s no real point in learning what to do, what happens, how it happens, when it comes to demon/angelic possession ( that’ll be the error of his ways, should a loved one become possessed ). because he doesn’t know a lot on those specific type of possessions, he will PANIC, and immediately throw himself into figuring out how best to get his loved one back without causing too much damage. it’s all he can do once he realizes what has happened, and it leaves him feeling frustrated, helpless, desperate. it’s a feeling he’s felt time and again before, especially when he was younger, and it causes his efforts to be redoubled, concentrated ; faster, faster, faster, gotta work faster, time’s running out and they’re stuck. FASTER.
that’s for an angelic/demonic possession -- knowing a certain reaper’s job and its potential side effects, eli has learned as much as he can, yet he still panics when it happens. only, this time, the panic is cloying, paralyzing, leaving him more than helpless, unable to do anything. to his knowledge, there’s little he can do beside sit back and watch a familiar face twist with darkness, tar and sin; there’s little he can do besides HOPE that it ends fast, that they’re both left with little more than shaking shoulders, breathless reassurances, fleeting touches. there’s little he can do and it kills him, even when staring into unfamiliar eyes that scare him, staring into eyes that lack the familiarity and comfort that was there only mere hours ago. this time around, this possession around, it’s the world’s worst waiting game for eli.
