Tried to draw Weeping God and Siffrin from @isat-weeping-god-au based off on concept arts, fic descriptions + personal headcanons because why not.

Yes I gave Siffrin the ugliest shoes (If i even can call those that) possible because I will never in my life believe what a person who refers to their party as a "pack" or "pride" and hasn't even thought about trying to cook meat before 15 years since he started eating it would get themselves normal shoes, this creature would deadass walk barefeet and think that's normal, the only reason he even got shoes because they noticed that people usually wear them.

Also I gave WG some flowers on their hat because I think they look cute with 'em.

So What Is This Actually?

welcome to the intro post! In which I rip directly from the masterdoc because i’m lazy and ray already wrote it all out so like why would i write it again lol (okay so that's a lie i ended up rewriting almost all of it lol)

The post that inspired this AU as a whole!

“Siffrin is an Eldritch God” AU, Weeping God AU for short.

Basic idea: Siffrin is a god that came from space down to the world, known as the Weeping God. It represents the transition from death to life.

(The Change God is the transition from life to death. They’re twins.)

The Weeping God is a relic of a place recently forgotten. The people of that place worshiped it as the transition between life and death, a creature of rebirth. It descended from the heavens years on years ago—it's said that something incredible was lost in its fall.

(Old writings about something called "color"... what could that word mean?)

It appears in places where you can lose yourself. Misty forests at night, empty castles, winding caverns. Pieces of it peel away, creatures known as Sadnesses. They're quiet beasts, more inclined to observe unless provoked.

(In legend, it's said that it uses its limbs to learn. To become something more human. Something more alive. Sadnesses are given the space they deserve.)

When the Island vanishes, they become listless and confused. They seem to lack direction in a way they never did before, but they're never hostile.

This, like most things, changes when the King begins his crusade.

Sadnesses that attack are simply monsters to be slain. After all, no one can quite remember anything good about that old god. Who would willingly worship a god of death?

And then there's Siffrin. Child of no name and no home, who washed up on Vaugarde's northern coast with no memory. He's young, but there's something... strange about him.

He knows nothing, but he learns quickly. They take in knowledge at a startling pace, even when it almost seems they're relearning how to be a person all over again.

Their eyes are... strange. If you peer too closely, you can almost see something impossible—something quickly forgotten once you glance away. (You can't remember something that doesn't exist.)

It doesn't matter. He's gone by the end of the month, and you can only wonder if he existed at all.

Depictions of Eclipse

(hi welcome to "Ray doodled WG a bunch based on seen interpretations so far" and then decided to get lore-y with it) The twin gods of the Cycle are often depicted in a variety of ways in comparison to Astreia's other gods who have more static designs. Being transitional gods of life and death, it is encouraged to personalize depictions of them. Small fabric dolls are often constructed for the purpose of carrying around Eclipse, known to Vaugarde as the Weeping God, said to be good luck during difficult times. Eclipse almost universally depicted with some kind of pointed hat, cloak, hidden face, and a star theming, with everything else seeming to be a suggestion. Even the lantern they're said to always carry is not always shown, supposedly hidden underneath their cloak when not guiding someone. There are, of course, some popular design choices for Eclipse. Stars underneath their cloak, pins at the front of their cloak, a veil, the tip of their hat being extremely long, and more often than not: tears visible despite their hidden face. There are still dozens more design choices that are seen. Flowers, hair length, hair type, eye shape when visible, and, of course, the lantern. Like Solstice's(known to Vaugarde as the Change God) mask, artists are encouraged to personalize Eclipse's lantern as much as possible.. It is said Eclipse's lantern changes in accordance to who they're guiding to their next life, and that no two people see the same lantern. There are depictions ranging from flower lanterns, star lanterns, mining lanterns, even a lanterns shaped like a fish or a boat, with at least one case of a lantern shaped like a spool of thread. There seems to be very little limits on the lantern Eclipse carries.

(aka: Ray got bored! We have a few WG interpretations that I decided to doodle. I got one from @lilithmymind that I promptly added a shit ton of flowers to, drew one based on the WG Jynx has for our pfp, the statue WG that @anomynouslyunreal did, and I did one of my own cause my thoughts of them have since changed(I gave mine a braid but stars I don't remember how to draw braids). I hope this post clears up more on what the crab WG's design is) (also yes the Island is named Astreia and they call the Weeping God "Eclipse" and Change God "Solstice")
