“NETGEER” by Sybyr

The way I see Sybyr and Antiwxrld is as something of a modern JGRXXN/Schemaposse or Key Nyata/Thraxxhouse situation. Currently, they’re like a 20-deep collective of Soundcloud rappers with a ton of raw talent, but three years down the road, you know at least five of these guys are gonna be the biggest names in underground rap. Kamiyada and Midnight Society are in a very similar situation as well. Both of them are just greater leaders, curators of talent, and even more importantly, incredible artists.

“Off The Tail” by Syringe prod. by Landfill

The incredible thing about this new Soundcloud/bedroom artist/producer landscape is that, if you really want, you can find a fire new rapper with a preexisting fan base at any given point. With the sheer amount of music that’s being produced and uploaded online, it’s impossible to keep up with everything, and that means great new artists are slipping through the cracks on the daily. For me, Syringe and the rest of Weird Clvn are my latest discoveries, and though I’d heard whispers about their movement in the past, I didn’t realize how amazing these guys really are until just recently.

“RIOT_ANGEL” by Eric North

If you’re a fan of “underground” music just for the sake of liking something other people don’t know about, then there’s plenty of mediocre, wannabe-famous ass rappers for you stan that you might be able to claim you knew about “first” before they blew up. If you’re in it for legitimately interesting, genre-progressing sounds though, then I recommend you check out Eric North and the rest of Anti-wxrld, as they’re actually breaking the molds of modern music & innovating in new and exciting ways. “RI0T_ANGEL” is the perfect place to start with a whole range of sonically-thoughtful music, & if you like what you hear, then there’s plenty more where that came from.

“SYBYR” by Sybyr

It’s a certain type of figure that does more for for art as a whole than just about anybody else. These type of people are, 1. unabashedly creative, never compromising their art for broader appeal or a chance at larger profits, and 2. generous, giving of their platform to other creatives so that this artistic seed may spread. I’d say it’s only three people that really fit this description in the Soundcloud scene, the first two obviously being SpaceGhostPurrp & Bones, and the third being the underappreciated Sybyr. Sybyr & his Antiwxrld movement are valuable beyond recognition. Bones & SGP did a great job allowing independent internet hip-hop to flourish to the point it’s at right now, but Sybyr’s one of the only current artists holding it down, and opening up lanes for future creators.
