Wait, you're forced to take all your shelf exams at once, at the end of third year????????????
Oh gosh no! That would be terrible. Our curriculum is weird so I’m finishing up second year right now. We start clerkships January of second year and take Step 1 after we wrap up rotations, in January of third year. Because we do our clerkships all over the country, they only have us come back and test after we’re done with a “track”--either two or three rotations that kind of relate (OB, Gen Surg, and Surgical Subs, In/Out Patient Medicine and Psych, or Peds and Family Med). This coming week I’m testing OB and surgery. I won’t really be back at school again until the end of July, when I test FM and peds, and then after that I won’t be back until December, when I test medicine and psych to finish up clerkships.
