Playing Dead by Vinterdracul from the album The Lee Variations
Where the monsters hide
Rare English language postcard of noted Red Army psychic Fyodor Sablukov and his childhood home, a Dutch-style windmill in Leningrad’s renowned Holland-themed amusement park, “Demonstration Area 12,” or “Crazy Tulip World,” as it was known informally.
Even as a young boy, Sablukov was recognized across Russia as a “weirding child” who could fly his famous red kite even on days where there was no wind, as he needed not even the hint of a breeze to loft the toy, which was said to hop gracefully upon the clouds like the principal dancer of the People’s Ballet Collective.
As a young adult, Sablukov’s supernatural exploits took a darker turn when he accidentally exploded the heads of 40 Soviet psychic researchers as he was trying to telekinetically separate a marked toothpick from a pile of toothpicks under a glass cloche.
An investigation exonerated Sablukov, finding the cloche to have been defective (as were several of the American made toothpicks).
