I've been listening to like the entire backlog of The Beef and Dairy Network and man is it hard to explain to someone what I'm listening to. Like, yes, you did just hear a woman recounting how she was trafficked into making sausages. There is no fifth meat. Stop asking questions.

At least when I was big into Night Vale I never had to explain the joke.

So my heart was broken in Pokemon Infinite Fusion when my adorable Meowth/Bellsprout evolved into a... not-at-all adorable Meowth/Weepinbell. Then I remembered hey, I’ve made fake Pokemon sprites before! I bet I could make my own sprite for Meowthbell! SO I DID

Not as cute as Meowsprout, but then again that’s an impossible bar to clear, haha.

You ever think about the fact that neurodivergent people are commonly made fun of for stimming, but once stimmy videos were rebranded as ASMR or "weirdly satisfying," suddenly it's normalized in our culture?

But only that specific kind of stimming. We still can't fidget or use toys other than fidget spinners to stim because that's weird, it makes the fact that we're ND too obvious.

Yeah, I think about that a lot, and it pisses me off.

*** I'm not saying that neurotypicals aren't allowed to enjoy ASMR or weirdly satisfying videos or fidget toys of any kind because they can be calming to people even if they aren't autistic or ADHD or anything like that, but I'm saying that it's really hypocritical that neurodivergent people are made fun of for this kind of thing when it's become a normalized part of even neurotypical culture ***

Part 2: Very Goop, Such Clean, Wow

humans are weird

We really like it when things are in order, perfectly. We make video and picture compilation of things just perfectly falling into place for the deep satisfaction of it. We get frustrated, to extreme levels sometimes, when we see these things that are out of place. For all of our irrational and oftentimes messy behaviors, we really enjoy the sight of things working out just perfectly. A ball fitting perfectly in a tube. All the same shapes lined up perfectly in a bag. When that tetris block fits perfectly in a hole.

So like imagine how an alien might view a human who is just GETTING SO STRESSED by things not lining up, not fitting, not working right.

An alien finds all the human crewmembers on their ship crowded around a shaft of some sort.

“Why are you all standing around like this?”

“Lieutenant Higgins discovered that an inflated emergency kit bag fits perfectly down this duct. We had to show everyone.”

“Yes well, while that’s interesting I do believe you all have jobs.”

“But look-” *inflates another bag and drops it, everyone avidly watching and listening as the the thing slides slowly down the shaft making a soft whooooooosssssshhhhhhh noise*

*humans collectively sigh*

“And how many of those have you dropped down the duct?”

“Around thirty.” *casually inflates another*
