Delayed processing goes crazy.
So I went to see a movie earlier today, and I was kinda nervous because it's not the usual theater I go to (and I'm barely comfortable going to the other one lol) so I had to manually remind myself of every step. What to order, when to give them my dad's phone number for a discount (he has an account and lets me use it), where to put all the shit I lug around normally as well as two popcorn buckets, a bag of M&M's, my ticket when I got it, etc. I thought I was going through all the steps right, but after I gave them the phone number for the discount they asked to see my ID. I didn't question it as I tend to autopilot in situations like this, but afterwards I thought it was kinda funny they were concerned about me using someone else's phone number to get a cheaper ticket and concessions, especially since they went through the trouble to check my ID but didn't ask why my name didn't match the one on the account?
Anyway I got my concessions and watched the movie, and I've been home for 3-4 hours, and I only just now realized they probably checked my ID because the movie was rated R.
The usual theater I go to doesn't check for that, but I do in fact know that you technically have to be 17 or older to watch R rated movies. It would explain why my mom never gets her ID checked when she goes to a movie without my dad, despite it not being her account either.
It's also so hit and miss as to whether I seem significantly older or younger than I am. I regularly had people thinking I was an adult when I was 13, but now that I am an adult I get told that I read as 16 at the oldest.
