Old piece for a friend's fic
look at my horse dawg im losing this race
Okay, half sharing a half chapter from Qinghe Harem Stories for the prompt I foisted upon @lasenbyphoenix, running into someone and spilling your drink on them. In a fit of inspiration I do plan to combine it with the prompt asked for: waking up in bed with someone, not remembering the night before
So...Sangcheng for:
14. Running into someone and spilling your drink on them.
“Hold my drink while I fix my fringe?” Wei Wuxian asked without really asking, and unseathed Suibian a little to use its reflective surface as a portable mirror.
“Where did you find that?” Jiang Cheng said, as the wine bottle was foisted upon him without his consent.
“They were giving them out for free in front of that banquet hall.”
“They were not giving them out for free! They were taking them there for the banquet. Wei WuXIAN did yout intercept this booze?”
“How do I look?” Wei Wuxian asked clicking shut his portable mirro- ehr- his sword.
“I am taking this back.” Jiang Cheng said, and turned.
....
Huaisang fixed his fringe too, and leaned in to confer privately with Meng Yao.
“Now, Meng Yao, I want you to pay close attention to Jiang Cheng at the banquet” he said behind his fan. “I want us to spend the entire evening afterwards analyzing his behavior.”
“Most certainly, young master.” said Meng Yao.
Huaisang nodded and turned into a corner without checking if someone was coming from the other side. For this reason he crashed on a tall, teal-clad man and his bottle of wine, walking furiously in his direction.
“You @#$*W! idiot. Don't you see where the &^%@S you are going.” the fashionable man yelled. “You made me spill alcohol all over my shirt!”
Huaisang blinked.
Meng Yao smiled his dimply smile that was only a little evil.
“Young master Jiang.” He said. “May I introduce you to our second young master. Beloved brother of Chifeng-zun, Nie Huaisang.”
“Oh, no! Now I have to change!” Huaisang said exasperated.“Do you think this is ruined, Meng Yao?” he asked pinching the wet spot on his silk brocade.
“I hope it's not, young master. I'd hate to have to send a letter of recompense and reparation to the Lady of Lotus Pier. Those things are just so tedious and embarassing to write. Not to mention the grief a ruined brocade would cause to such a renowned fashion icon.”
“Please, don't tell my mother!” Jiang Cheng all but screamed. “It's just a little wet spot, all it needs is a good drying.” And with that he started hitting it furiously with his sleeve.
“Are you hitting me?” Nie Huaisang asked.
“Are you hitting our young master, young master Jiang?” Meng Yao leaned in disbelieving.
“Who is hitting the second young master?” Nie Zonghui asked popping from behind a potted plant. “He shall face me in combat.”
Jiang Cheng despaired. “Wei WuXIAN! This is all your fault! Do something to help me!”
“Certainly.” Wei Wuxian said and cozied up to Nie Huaisang. “Hey,” he said leaning close enough to whisper in his ear. “You are a cutie. Want to go someplace else?”
“Absolutely!” Huaisang beamed and slipping his hand into Wei Wuxian's, they left.
i want to write a fic where yi sang is flirting with wei but he's doing it in such roundabout and flowery language that wei is convinced he's just giving him some kind of wisdom.
so yi sang is adviced to be blunt and tells him, straight up "i think you're hot" which makes the horse short circuit. what is the moral of the story....
