I wish we knew more about Jin Zixuan’s feelings towards Jin Guangyao. Like we know he doesn’t like his parents marriage too much, and the interactions Madame Jin has with Jin Guangyao show she really doesn’t like him, as her husband’s illegitimate child, and with a mother of lower social standing. Like we know that Jin Guangyao and Jin Zixuan didn’t fully refuse to interact, because Jin Guangyao is the one who tells Jin Zixuan about Wei Wuxian during the Jin Zixun situation. Jin Zixuan and Jin Zixun are shown both agreeing and disagreeing on matters, and Jin Zixun is kind of a jackass in general about most things, but class status as well. I’m just super curious, because certain aspects of the Jin household mirror the Jiang household, where you’ve got a very tense marriage where the wife is taking out her anger on her husband’s real or perceived infidelity on the child who, in Wei Wuxian’s case, is the center of that rumor, and in Jin Guangyao’s case, is actually the product of said affair, rather than on the husband, because of family hierarchy placing the father above the mother, and then there’s the child who’s the product of the marriage, which in the case of the Jiangs, that relationship between the two children retains intense focus, whereas in the Jins very little focus at all. It’s interesting too bc we know Jin Zixuan has many many many half siblings, Mo Xuanyu, Qin Su, and Jin Guangyao are just the only named ones (and Jin Zixuan only knows one of them as a sibling).
