How To Install Weiss Zima On Your Tumblr Blog?

Weiss Zima is now available in the Tumblr Theme Garden. To check it out, just go here: https://www.tumblr.com/theme/39890

To preview the theme and how it looks as well as to check out the documentation and various tutorials on how to customize Weiss Zima, click on the “preview” button.

Displaying Featured Posts

On Weiss Zima, you can choose to display up to 3 of your posts at the top of your blog right below the fixed navbar. They look like this:

Here’s how to customize and style them.

Featured posts include:

A thumbnail pic - you can upload your own images by going to the theme options page of your blog

A title 

A short description

A “keep reading” button that links to your post

Aside from featuring the posts on your blog, note that you can also choose to link to other articles regardless of where they’re posted.

How to display featured posts on your blog?

Go to the theme options page of your blog then scroll down until you find “Show Featured Posts”. Toggle it on or off depending on what you want. 

How to add featured post titles, descriptions and links?

Scroll down further and you will find the textboxes where you can input the necessary information to display featured posts on your blog.    

How to add thumbnails to featured posts?

Scroll back up the theme options page until you see the following:

Just click on the pencil icon and select the “choose a photo” option. You’ll then be prompted to upload a pic from your PC.

Customizing The Footer

On Weiss Zima, you get to display your copyright on the footer section of your blog. Here’s what you need to do.

The title of your blog will automatically be displayed on the footer right beside the year for copyright. It will also automatically link to the homepage or index page of your blog. 

To change the year for copyright, go to the theme options page of your blog and scroll down until you find the “year for copyright” heading. Just replace 2015 with whatever year you want. You can also do something like “2014-2015″.

The Tumblr link in the “powered by Tumblr” section links to Tumblr while the link on Freya Yuki leads to my main Tumblr blog. Please/kindly do not remove the credit links. Thank you.

Weiss Zima Meta

At the end of a post, you’ll see the following:

On index pages:

The date when the article was published. This also includes the permalink URL of the post in question

If available, the number of notes on a post will be displayed

Comments (if you have enabled Disqus on your blog)

Share buttons, which includes Like, Reblog, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and Twitter   

On permalink pages:

1, 2 and 4 from above

Tags - if you have added tags to your post

Notes - this is where you’ll see more information about the notes on a post (if there are notes on a post)

Comments - if you have enabled Disqus, this is where you can write a comment or reply to a comment

If available or if a post has been reblogged, you will also see the content and reblog sources.

Customizing The Fonts On Your Blog | Using Google Fonts

On Weiss Zima, you can easily customize the fonts on your blog just by going to the theme options page and looking for the above options. What are the font options? What kinds of fonts can you use?

You can use Google Fonts on Weiss Zima. Here’s how:

You will see a long list of fonts

Use the filters to search through the fonts

Once you find the font that you want to use on your blog, just take note of the name of the font and then type it on the appropriate textbox on the theme options page of your blog

*Note: be sure to double-check the font license so you’ll know for sure if you can use the font freely or not.

Customizing The Sidebar

On Weiss Zima, the default placement of the sidebar is to the right. However, you can easily move it to the left or even hide it just by toggling the features on or off on the theme options page of your blog.

Customizing The Colors Of Your Blog | Color Options

On Weiss Zima, you can easily customize and change the colors of your blog just by going to the theme options page. 

Once you’re there, just scroll down until you find the above pics. Choose the colors that you want and then save your changes and check out your blog.
