Daffodils and Carnations - by KawaiSonadowLover100
This has been an idea brewing for months and I finally finished it today, and it's safe to say I'm proud of it.
Note: this work is finished, the whole plot is in the first chapter. Please read the note in the first chapter to get a better idea of what I was trying to achieve with this.
Curtain in the Window - by Whistle_Mist
There was something that triggered Jin Ling's rut, a simple flower in the mountains, and the one incident that followed it left Sizhui in a state of constant need.
Unbroken Broken Ties - by Vanillacupckake
Lan SiZhui had everything he dreamed of. He was married to Jin Ling, the one and only alpha he had ever loved, had his mark on his neck and was living a dream every day. However, it all fell apart when his husband found out about the Wen blood in his veins and broke the bond between them, disowning him and returning him to Cloud Recess.
Months later, he needs to return to the Carp Tower, because the baby that develops in his womb needs the presence of both parents to develop and have a healthy pregnancy. After losing everything, living with all your losses on a daily basis is exhausting. All SiZhui sees are broken bonds.
Some of them, however, are unbreakable and persist whether they like it or not.

I rarely see anyone mention that the 'I will break your legs!' comment Jiang Cheng is so famous for isn't actually exclusive to Jiang Cheng. It is also mentioned in relation to Nie Mingjue and Nie Huaisang. While Nie Huaisang is in the Cloud Recesses, it is mentioned twice, one of them during Nie Huaisang's character introduction:
"His spirits were immediately dampened by another. 'No one's stopping you. Your older brother will break your legs, that's all.' The boy wilted instantly. This was the second young master of the Nie clan of Qinghe, Nie Huaisang. (MDZS, book 1, p. 140, 7S translation)
Not only is the comment 'I'll break your legs' not exclusive to Jiang Cheng, here it's not even said by Nie Mingjue or Nie Huaisang themselves. It's said by an unknown outsider. This implies that the 'I'll break your legs' comment is a common hyperbole within the world of MDZS. It's a figure of speech that means their parental figure will be displeased and they might get punished. (I do wonder if this is a sentence that's used more often in Chinese media - personally, I have only seen it in MDZS). Important is that it isn't actually exptected that the children get their legs broken. On page 261, Jin Ling even remarks that his uncle never hit him and the threats are 'all talk!' Nie Mingjue is never shown physically repremanding Nie Huaisang for his slacking off despite his aggression and despite physical repremanding being quite common in MDZS. The 'I'll break your legs!' comment was never meant to be taken seriously as a threat. Within MDZS it's more of a joke, something said by and about angry and/or aggressive characters who nonetheless rarely if ever physically hurt their charges.
(Nie Mingjue does of course burn Nie Huaisang's treasures; this isn't physical repremanding, however, and the interesting thing about this punishment is that he threatens to do so twice. The first time he doesn't carry the threat out, implying that by the second time, he's doing so because of the progression of the saber curse. However, the way Nie Mingjue treats Nie Huaisang and the way the saber curse influences this treatment requires it's own post(s) and analysis).
(Which is all not to say that Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue are literally perfect because they are deeply flawed characters and it shows in the way they treat Jin Ling and Nie Huaisang. However, the problem is not that Jin Ling and Nie Huaisang were at risk of having their legs broken).
tw implied murder
Prequel of this. I think.
The phone rang with an annoying, out of tune jingle Wei Wuxian had set for his own number as a joke. Jiang Cheng had kept it, however, and used it to mark the contacts of headaches in his life.
He picked it up and accepted it. A muffled "Jiujiu?" came through.
Headache number two, then.
"What do you want, Jin Ling?"
"How do you know I want something? I could be calling to tell you I love you!"
"I love you too. Now. Tell me what you want."
A huff of annoyance. "Fine. Do you have a lawyer?"
"...."
What?
"What?"
"Do you have a lawyer, Jiujiu?"
Jiang Cheng sat up straight on the sofa he was supposed to be relaxing on. This kid was going to be the end of him.
"Yes, I have a lawyer. Why are you asking? Do you need a lawyer?"
"Is it hard to get a lawyer?"
"JIN LING, WHAT DID YOU DO?"
"Um... I might have committed a crime."
A crime? He actually broke the law?
"Why are you asking for a lawyer? Are you already planning to be caught? Try to hide the fucking evidence!"
"Hide the evidence? Jiujiu, I can't hide the evidence! It's bigger than I am! Of course I'm going to be caught! I'm going to be sent to jail! My entire life will be ruined what am I going to do..."
Jin Ling's panicked voice trailed off as he started pacing frantically. There was an odd wet, noise as he stepped. Was he stepping in a puddle? Where was he? What did he even do?
"Get over here, now."
Jiang Cheng hung up on him and threw his phone down. His evening was ruined and his nephew might have committed a crime. A serious one, apparently! What was his life?
