Today's Dose of Nature: Fledglings

Anhingas, Snowy Egrets, and Great White Herons. And a few wildflowers for color among all those downy white feathers. From southern Palm Beach county and northern Broward county in South Florida.

Weeeeeetlands

My first hike in over a month. It was amazing~

GET READY FOR PICTURES OF NATURE. Undercut cause I took a lot. I was pretty eager.

The swamp floor reclaiming fallen trees

CHICKEN OF THE WOODS!

There was A LOT of fungus

Need that fungus to eat up that wood. mmm wood.

Saw some Sandhill Cranes! Glad I caught them before the seasons changed. They are about 3 feet tall.

Great Blue Heron.

Egret (left) caught a fish that Heron (right) wanted

Milkweed bug on a Milkweed plant

They love to swarm and breed on Milkweeds

I MEAN, REALLY LIKE TO SWARM

Muted Swans! And some Mallards hangin’ out

Monday, 11/1/21. I took today off to get started on my novel. I took myself out to the wetlands to get in the right headspace. I got a few thousand words in, went for another walk with my husband at lunchtime, then finished up at a little over 5,000. Not bad for the first day!
