Smelling flowers

After settling in her new place, which was more luxurious than what she expected it to be, the genie slipped into comfortable clothes and walked out of the chalet. Though settling in was a generous choice of words to describe her half-assing opened boxes and bunch of stuff lying around on the ground. It was just a mess. Still, the genie called it ‘good work’ and decided that she deserved a break. A little smile on a graceful, still unfamiliar face greeted the genie. A bright smile spread across her face in return, “Good morning. I guess, news travel fast around here” She approached the elf and could barely hide her curiosity, “Yes, I am. But you can call me Tulipe. Nice to meet you” She held her hand out.
Ah, handshaking. Even after years and years of human interactions he still felt weird about it, yet since he was not an animal raised with rats and wolves, he shook her hand. He would be cold to the touch since he always ran cold, even in the heat of summer. “Nice to meet you Tulipe, where are you from? I am Key, vice-principal if there is anything you need or if anything goes wrong please come and find me. I am also keeper of the artifacts so for that, also come to me.” He smiled, then remembering he also taught at the academy but it already sounded like a lot- which it was. “It is good to have you here, since our last groundskeeper had to... resign-” because he was fucking a student “and the previous gardener got quite old, you will have a lot to do I suppose. What is your experience?”
He had read her resume of course, but he liked to ask it face to face too.
