If you would have told me 11 years ago (when I first started watching #DoctorWho) that the Doctor would someday be a woman, I don't know if I would have believed you. Truly, I am upset that is not a man of color - or MOST ideally, a woman of color. That being said, I am energized today because of this. I have received messages from countless friends and fellow fans celebrating this announcement. I was nearly in tears when I saw the big reveal. Haters are gonna hate. I'm taking that in stride.
