I figured you all would enjoy this comic I doodled on my welding homework. Image description under the cut! It also includes the text of the comic in case my handwriting is too messy and/or too small.
[Image Description:
An eight panel comic drawn in pencil on lined notebook paper. Read from left to right and top to bottom.
Panel 1 shows a stick figure raising up a stick arm and boldly declaring “Proper safety is for nerds!” entirely unaware of the cloud of smog surrounding them.
Panel 2 has the stick figure leaning (or falling) backwards with an x where their eyes should be. They are shouting “Oh no I’m blinded and I can’t breathe” and again the cloud surrounds them.
Panel 3 shows a slightly wider shot with the stick figure on the ground in the bottom left corner, crawling away from a vaguely fire shaped blob. They are yelling “oh god there’s fire now!”
Panel 4 has the stick figure kneeling on the ground with their arms over their head, the fire closer to them than before. Above them is a cylinder. They are shouting “Where did the oxygen cylinders come from?”
Panel 5, the start of the bottom row, has the stick figure curled up in the bottom left corner in the fetal position. The fire consumes them now, and the oxygen cylinder has lodged itself in the now broken wall of the comic panel. They are whimpering “mommy...” and a dark face peers into the panel from the right.
Panel 6 shows the stick figure kneeling with their arms above their head, shouting “I’m saved!” as the second figure stands before them, welding helmet over their face and a fire extinguisher in their hands. The oxygen cylinder is still stuck in the wall.
Panel 7 zooms out, giving a view of the room behind the two stick figures. The oxygen cylinder has broken through the panel wall. Parts of the room are on fire. Fumes rise into the air. The walls of the room are cracked and damaged. The stick figures stare at each other. The one wearing the welding helmet has lowered the fire extinguisher.
Panel 8 zooms back in on the two stick figures. The fire extinguisher is still there. The stick figure in the welding helmet says “You’re fired.”
