If you're still undergoing window unit ac drama, I'd say trust the unit will stay so long as it's level on the bottom and wedged in tight (to avoid hot air getting in/it falling). Also be careful what's underneath it (especially if you bought it second hand!!). I'd recommend setting a bowl under it for the first week and see if you get any leaks before leaving anything else under it. Enjoy that sweet, sweet cold air life!!

i think the issue is that we have a weatherproof window, so it’s not totally flat. my husband bought a 2x4 to go underneath it for support, and hopefully that’ll work. we’re buying work gloves before we take another shot at it though because the back of it cut my fingers up really bad 😬😬😬
