How I Boost My Mood
1. Clean up, tidy up
I am blood type B. See? Blood type B is identical to mess. But it seems that I am an anomaly, even though am not literally clean freak. My tidiness tends to functional. To save time, I leave my stuff mess when I am working, but I will tidy that up as soon as possible or I would be grumpy all day. I am very tempted every behold IKEA catalogue intently or walk in Ace Hardware store. Those items look want to bring back home. Whoaah.
I used to buy many chemical cleansers. I had a wide variety of cleansers, like kitchen grease cleanser, waterless-floor cleanser, glass cleanser, wood polish, etc. But then I realized that those cleansers were too strong. I am too lazy to make homemade cleanser, but at least I try to reduce chemical usage, Uh-uhMy aroma therapy are calming-fragrant clothes and freshly mopped floor (Ok, I am not clean freak, I am just freak :P )
2. You are what you eat
I think that good nutrition builds my mood up. I feel right when I am eating fruit, vegetable, seafood, grains, or yogurt. Otherwise, I am very bad when hungry. (I am really sorry for that). One day, for some reasons, I did not consume any healthy food for more than a week. Then, I got sprues. I swear, they were really painful, two very deep and wide sprues—the most hurtful sprue I have ever had. They felt like have souls. I could even feel their beats. In addition, my face broke out. I got also many acnes. My problems were solved gradually right after I got more fruit salad and cap cay. As simple as that. Yeayyyy (˘‿˘ʃƪ)
3. Mens Sana in Corpore Sano
Let’s go outside and exercise. I love jogging and yoga. I also like to swim though not good. Exercising releases stress and maintains my posture. I don’t know it exactly, but I think, if I work out routinely, my skin—especially my face—looks brighter. Seems it is a combination of healthy mind and smooth blood circulation. See? I might be healthy, relax, and even prettier (the last one is my suggestion (>‿♥) )
4. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem
When I was younger, I hated problems. I were very pessimistic. But now I look at a different way. Problem is a challenge. Once you solve a problem, you will be more expert then. It is exciting, isn’t it?
Honestly, I do not solve all my problems alone. Sometimes, the problem do even solve itself. Yes, you are not mistaken. For example, earlier this year, I just moved in to new rented house. Unfortunately, the water did not flow. We had turned on the power properly—as directed by the house owner by phone. We had also complained to the PDAM, but the CS said that the channel remained open. So, we bought water. It was horrible since we could not ask for water any time we need. If we run out of water at night, we had to wait until the next morning. It is also a bit pricey. It does not matter if you purchase water occasionally, but not for forever. And then something good happened (it was bad initially). Last week, water pipe in front of our house broken. My husband called for technician from the PDAM. Note, we called them at 7 pm, they said they would arrive immediately, but, taraaaaa, they arrived at 7 a.m. next morning. They just wasted a huge amount of clean water. After fixed the pipe line, they checked our PDAM’s tap and then we knew that the tap was clogged, after being idle over two years. My husband always asks me to think positively, so great things happen to you.
On the other hand, sometimes I need to put big effort, and even the problem may not be completed yet. But I love to know something new.
5. Doing hobbies
Being productive is a high-nutrient soup for soul. My biggest interest is in handcrafts. I like knitting, making origami or other form of paper craft, and redesigning my clothes. Just after I graduated from college and was seeking for job, I was so broke that could not afford a pencil case, so I made it — a two-compartment pencil case. In my spare time, I could spend hours watching DIY project on Youtube. Although I don’t have any idea how to make clothes, I crave mini sewing machine. When I was at school, I played organ, but I was less interested at that time. And now, I want to recall my skill. I also like playing puzzle game, but I don’t like adventure or fighting game. I think that my reflex is not good. I find difficulty in thinking fast.
6. Learning by doing
I know it sounds cheesy. In fact, it is not as creepy as it sounds. The main definition of learning is merely adding some information and improving skill. Neither quantity nor object does matter, right? For me, my biggest challenge is cooking. My mom’s cooking is delicious. As reference, she can even cook sardine much better than the canned one. My mom do not trust me to cook. And now I get married and I have to cook. I feel dull, but I keep trying. Besides that, I want to be proactive. I consider it as the best way to get inner peace as well as win-win solution. That is why I collect self-improvement books. My other “learning” activities are planting, reading newspaper, surfing on dictionary, etc. And currently I pay more attention on photography, business and investment (Things that I had previously ignored).
7. Being kind to others *and myself*
I read on “Opening the Door of Your Heart,, by Ajahn Bram, that you are more excited and automatically smarter when helping people, so it may feel easier. Moreover, I could not be happier if I see that I am the people’s reason to smile. However, if people could not accept my kindness as expected, I might praise myself for being helpful.
Do I sound nerd and booring?
