Who Wants Well-Behaved Women With Grace & Decorum?
Of course, you have heard and read the famous quote that seems to be even more popular today “Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History.” What a lot of hooey first off the quote needs to be in the perspective of today's way of thinking. A student who earned her Ph.D. In history wrote on this subject, and it is her quote.
The intention was to write about the lives of ordinary women who were considered well-behaved, or "vertuous", the old way of spelling this word, (an alternate spelling of virtuous). In the paper she wrote the quote was written as “seldom” not "rarely" are well-behaved women, not how it is used today. It would be safe to say that the real men today want real authentic ladies, yes arm hangers are fun but not for long-term relationships.
