i'm trying to understand a specific trigger i have at work: when i'm problem-solving with someone, and someone else provides an alternative "ideal" way to handle a problem, but one that isn't currently feasible. i get very frustrated with the time/energy that sort of interruption causes. everyone else stops contributing because it was pointed out this isn't the "best" way to achieve something. thread is dead because you, fellow co-worker, wanted us to know we should actually submit a request and have a tool built instead of me handing off a script for someone to run. something that, for our current situation, is also implausible due to a shortage of engineers and the fact that we're throwing away this pipeline in two months.
fellow co-worker doesn't have insidious intent by offering an ideal way to handle things. but fellow co-worker has also failed to contribute anything. they do not offer their own help to streamline requests, or provide a tool, or who to reach out to. just... "hey, yall shouldn't really bother with things this way."
okay. and?
