Wellingham and Hancock
Hancock: {Walking into a rooftop restaurant. / Impressed} Now that's a view a guy could get used to.
Hancock: {Addressing the host of a restaurant. / Question} So, what's a guy got to do to get a seat in a place like this?
Wellingham: {A ghoul, a hideously irradiated person who is normally banned from town, walked into your restaurant.} Oh my. A Ghoul. You're even more hideous than I'd imagined.
Hancock: {Someone just insulted your looks. You're trying to maintain composure in the face of discrimination. / Irritated} Watch yourself, scrapheap. We're just look for some grub. We got caps.
Wellingham: {You're trying to figure out how to work out a business transaction with someone you refuse to touch.}Hmm. Perhaps we can come to some understanding. Place your caps on the floor. I can collect them later.
Hancock: {Containing your rage about the excessive condescension you just had to suffer through. / Angry} On the floor? You know what? I've lost my appetite.
Nothing against Home Plate, but I always felt like the player should have had an alternate more expensive and snooty upper stands housing option, as well.
1) A cool opportunity for this would have been during Diamond City Blues. If Cooke leaves or ends up dead and Paul Pembroke is either excluded from the quest, killed, or you don't split enough reward for him to buy the house, you should be able to buy Cooke's house (which, frankly I would never buy because the slanted floor makes me feel nauseous and like the house is gonna' fall apart, but still). Alternatively, if Nelson and Malcolm Latimer die during various outcomes, you could have had the option to buy their house (which is way cooler).
2) I'm not sure if Kellog's house is upper stands, but that also could have been a purchasing option. Buying it actually could have been a route to getting inside for main quest purposes.
3) SLIGHT SPOILER FOR MAIN QUEST/END OF GAME AHEAD -------- I guess you could also have the option to live in the mayor's office after a certain main quest outcome happens, but that implies a lot of control in DC. Which, sure, you might have at that point. And frankly they did need to do more after that happens, but, that's another gripe.
4) Or, of course, just another empty upper stands house could've been there for the taking unrelated to other quests and characters.
Upper stands snobs and lower field settlers have different dialogue now. Lower folks make comments about slumming it if you're in the market, say how lucky or rich you must be to live up there, or voice jealousy in either rude or earnest tones. Upper stands folk make comments about rising above your station, how much better it is to be there, "welcome to the high life, friend", or some say you still don't really belong up there and the stands are letting anyone in now.
Wellingham is.. I'm so torn, lmao. I could see him having a complete turn around and kissing your posh ass now, but I also like the idea that he never stops seeing you as some slackjawed buffoon.
"Ugh. New money.. My sensors aren't fooled by full pockets, madam/sir. You may live here, but you don't belong here. Still, I will serve you.. If I must.. eugh.."
"Ahh, madam/sir! Always a pleasure when one of our finest citizens graces my establishment. Please, permit me to pull out your chair. How may I serve you?"
If his attitude improves and you haven't approached him in Devil's Due yet, his dialogue will change for that quest.
Thinking about Codsworth and Wellingham a lot lately…

I’ll be breaking out the cheap moonshine, so that sir may drink in a manner more suitable for him.
Ah yes. The egg dealer. Come to erase some memories with drink, I presume? Who can blame you? --Wellingham #fallout #fallout4 #wellingham
