concept: securitrons are synths + all my headcanons.
WARNING: I don’t care if it conflicts with canon or not. This is my own personal idea that I bounce around in my head. Shrug
this is mostly about Yes Man, Victor, and Jane. They deserve better. Sorry as always if this is incomprehensible I just need to get my ideas down somewhere.
I feel like it’s important to start from the basics. Why are these ultra strong robots now synths? I dunno. Because I can.
aside from that, they’re a bit different than standard synths. They’re definitely made for war without a doubt. That’s a war machine right there. They come standard in male and female figures, though on the typical police variant you’d see around the Strip, there isn’t much of a difference.
there very much is a difference between standard models and the models you’ll find in the Lucky 38.
before the war there were 38 special female models that walked the floor of the casino. Post-war only Jane and Marilyn remain.
now why didn’t I mention Marilyn earlier? This is because Yes Man is Marilyn! Trans robot win! I couldn’t help myself and it made enough sense to me.
I mean, Benny is totally the kind of guy to blow up one of his boss’ favorite robots to make his own servant out of them. It’s a long story, but Benny’s not as bad of a guy as he seems. We love trans people helping trans people.
I'm planning on writing the story in full, but think of Spoken For by Flavor Foley while you wait for that.
pivoting pretty hard, Victor’s job makes a lot more sense if he’s a synth, even if the people of Goodsprings know that. It makes a lot more sense for a human shaped robot to “lay low” than for a TV on a big wheel to. Also he totally joins the courier on the way to Vegas with his synth horse. Hell fucking yes. He’s your best friend ever whether you like it or not.
thinking forward a bit in time, once the courier decides to take care of House and upload Yes Man to the Lucky 38 mainframe, I think his goofy smile still takes its place on the screen. Which is even funnier because where did that come from??? Makes no sense.
anyway, Yes Man just plugs into the console with some big ass cords. Probably has a big usb plug in his back lol. It’s a bit silly but I like the idea of Yes Man keeping his body even if he’s not using it. Guy could be looking at cacti and his synth body is just glaring at you from across the room.
another thing about Yes Man returning to the Lucky 38 is that he has to confront Victor and Jane, especially since he just accessed records that confirm his fuzzy memories. Thank you Benny for using the most destructive weapon to deactivate him. You are so stupid <3
I honestly don’t think either would care too much about the, yknow, being trans thing. Jane would probably be a huge mama hen about it because she thought her best friend (and probably crush) was dead! But she’s not!! Just a very hateful man now. Victor probably doesn’t care much; they were never close anyhow.
THAT BEING SAID! I do ship Yesvic really hard they are my barbie dolls. So WARNING! WARNING! YESVIC BELOW!
ok now that all the normal people are gone and it’s just us I’ll let you in on a little bit of secret yesvic headcanonning.
Since we know from the cut post-game lines that Yes Man struggles to control his anger without his forced filter, I think that Victor LOVES to piss him tf off. It’s just so easy.
Yes Man is usually levelheaded, especially with ruling his city, but holy fuck. Victor just makes him SO mad. What’s worse is that Yes Man loves his teasing and stupid cowboy-ness. They’re 100% city boy x country boy. Prim and proper boy x the dirtiest man you’ve ever seen how did he get that much dirt on him. Acts calm but is hotheaded x acts hotheaded but is calm.
they most likely have to go through a huge fight of some kind before either can confront their feelings. Mostly Yes Man, not because of anything internalized, but because he’s just a huge bitch. We don’t talk about how huge of a bitch Yes Man is. He’s massive, dude.
Victor definitely helps Yes Man be a much better person; helping him like Wastelanders a whole lot more, helping him calm the hell down and bringing out the love instead of the hate. There’s so much hate in that robot’s heart.
