A lil WIP for you guys to see what’s coming :)
Wendigo Max can shapeshift.
It’s a perfect copy, all except for the eyes - those stay white because he can’t grow pupils or irises. He only gets those back when he’s in his feeding form, which isn’t often.
So, he prefers to shapeshift into people like Officer Bailey or Sam Sweetly or people that wear sunglasses or cover their eyes all the time so it’s easy to hide.
He also feeds kind of similar to Remmick from Sinners, deceiving his victims into thinking he’s actually the person he’s shapeshifted as before feeding.
Sometimes, he just does it to mess with people but it’s mainly for eating purposes.

To make up for it, here’s some Wendigo Max stuff:
He’s a traditional Wendigo, which is basically just a cannibalistic ghost
His sense of hearing increased by a lot, so he is able to hear someone’s heartbeat. He loves it because he knows when someone is scared
He’ll attack pretty much anyone - especially if he’s hungry - but he’s more prone to attack if someone is whistling. It’s superstition that you shouldn’t whistle at night because the dead will think you’re talking to them and…Max will answer
When Max is in his ‘feeding form’, his chest will cave in and create t h e h o l e . His jaw will also be able to drop a lot lower (like a Tasmanian Tiger) and his pupils will be visible. He’ll also be visibly skinnier - like, seeing each bone through the skin kind of skinny
He can choose wether or not to keep his pupils visible, he just chooses to keep his eyes white in his ‘haunting’ form bc it’s cooler
