This drawing came from an idea that had been with me for a while: a female version of the wendigo. As a child, I saw certain images too early, and they made this legend feel especially haunting to me. So I wanted to preserve a bit of that eerie vibe in the design.

I know people who have one sibling with a crazy name and one with a normal one, generally with friends whose parents are immigrants. My friend Aisling's little sister is Jamie. It's just that Ais got the traditional name and Jamie didn't. I also know a Shayna who has a sister named Joy. The crazy names aren't generally THAT crazy, but still. I also know a family who named both their children the same name, just different versions (Michael and Michelle). It is annoying in fics though XD
I can see the one "ethnic" name and one not; that could be plausible, or if the oldest child got the family name or something like that.
It's just funny when a white family in a fanfic has one kid named like, Kristyl and another one named Sue, you know?
Going WAY back to the discussion about over-describing things and Charles Dickens, my mom mentioned to me off-handedly that Charles Dickens was paid by the word, which would explain why he put so many of them into everything he wrote.
I heard that too.
Also, his books were originally sold in installments (of three, I think) so he'd have to draw things out in order to get people to keep buying them!
I have to use a de-humidifier if I venture outside from March to October. We're not as low as New Orleans, but my town's about 100 feet above sea level at the very highest and where I am is like 20 or so and we're on the ocean so humidity likes my town very much XD If I don't, my hair gets really poofy and frizzy and impossible to even brush. Oh, New England.
Haha, most places don't get as low as New Orleans because most cities have the sense to not be below sea level~
I feel you on the humidity hair problems though. Frizzy everywhere.
What really bugs me is how in fanfics people who dye their hair are always seen as sluts. I don't about everyone else, but most of my friends dye their hair (believe it or not I don't naturally have fire engine red hair), or put highlights, or streaks of color in and, ignoring the fact that the concept of slut is horribly wrong and rude, they're the complete opposite of slut. Between the 12 or so who dye their hair, maybe two of us have had relations that went beyond kissing each other goodbye.
Stereotypes suck.
I don't really like actually scented things so I usually go for stuff that just smells clean. You know the shampoos and body washes that just smell like soap. Although I do have de-humidity cream for my hair that just smells plain good. I have no idea what the actual scent is but it makes my hair smell good all day XD
I like soap-scented stuff too :3 Sometimes I just want to smell like a fruit basket though XD

How do you even smell someone's hair without being ridiculously close to them anyway? Or their skin for that matter? I mean I've been in situations where I can smell someone else very easily, but those all involved me and the other person literally this close ><. I mean if they just had a shower or smell REALLY bad I can understand it, but generally I'm not all "this person's hair smells like [insert shampoo scent]" in every situations.
I can sometimes smell my own hair if I have my argan oil/leave-in conditioner in it but that's like, when I have it up to my nose haha. Unless I tell my roommates "COME SNIFF MY HAIR IT SMELLS NICE" I don't really think anyone can (or probably should) be able to smell my hair.
