We’re Captured: A Commentary and Review
Theme song was great, as always.
Here we find Boxman threatening to torture the heroes, but he also has Professor Venomous over to dinner for a business meeting. He goes back and forth between them until he fesses up to the heroes that he double-booked. The heroes escape and plan to take revenge on Lord Boxman by tormenting him and PV. Boxman traps them with their own pies, but PV finishes them off and confesses that he had come to sever their business relationship, but has changed his mind.
So first of all I have to say that I understand why people immediately started shipping Boxman and PV after this episode. There are literal anime filters, and that’s not even all of it. (If you don’t ship it, that’s fine. Just don’t hate on people who do, ‘cause there’s a lot of evidence in just the first episode and even more later.)
Things I noticed:
Professor Venomous tells Boxman to stop when he hugs him at the beginning of the episode, but allows him to at the end.
Things I want to talk about that are spoilery so don’t read if you aren’t caught up:
“I’m a villain, not a monster.” Ow. My heart.
Did PV recognize KO was his son in this episode? Or did he just notice that KO was a child? Unclear.
If he did know that KO was his son, he has no qualms shooting him out the window. A+ Parenting, PV.
Rating: 9/10. Really great episode, introduces Professor Venomous in an unforgettable way. Only nitpick is that you still can’t talk if he found out KO was his son in this episode.
Number of holes in roof: 0. Hole in wall does not count.
